I don't see the DG-87 for sale on the EVGA site or elsewhere, but I also haven't found anything that says it's gone forever. Will it be sold again?

It's a good question. I have a DG-86 myself and really like the case. Did the DG-87 have a feature that you needed that the DG-86 doesn't? Only real difference seems that the DG-87 had physical buttons on the side of the case for the fan controller while the DG-86 uses software.

I think it might also include a couple more fans out of the box, but really the physical controller interface is the selling point for me. I like physical things. I'll buy the DG-86 if the DG-87 isn't being produced anymore, but I'm willing to wait for the DG-87 if it is coming back soonish.

I have a evga dg 87 case. Been using it since 2017 and love it. I use physical buttons all the time. I recently discovered sata power cable broken and no clue how it happened cause was not even using it.

I can sell you my evga fans once I upgrade to better ones soon? If you want.

I could sell you mine if I plan to upgrade my case but let me know so I can decide.

Not sure if this is right place to ask but is there a way to repair defective sata power cable in the case that powers the evga sign ? It never really worked before and I never understood why till I looked recently.

Are you talking about the LED strip? If so, yes. My LEDs were going yellow, so I got the LED strip RMAed and EVGA sent me a new one. Easy to swap out. I would reach out to EVGA.

I believe the sata cable itself broke but not sure if it replaceable.

How do I take it out of the case?

Take your front cover off where your intake fans are. There should be three screws on the left that you unscrew that are holding the LED strip. I believe that is how I did it; I remember it being fairly simple when I did (before I put a big radiator and tubing in front of it). The SATA cable is part of the LED strip so just contact EVGA and tell them you need a new one, they will hook you up.

So um how do I contact them to get a replacement?

I finally bought a DG -85 as the 87 is hard to find now and the one I found was still $285. I have wanted one for so long. I've had the same Sylverstone case since 2011!!! Picked up DG 85 for $129. I should get it by the 28th of Sept and will be rebuilding my current system, in my signature below, into it! Wish me luck to get all the dust out!!!

You really want a case that looks like 1990's television from the side.

Right now a lot of case manufacturers are making cases similar to Hyte. I expect that will be the trend for a while. I don't think we'll see anything like the DG 87 for a while.
