I have a 350W psu with a single 6 pin PCIE connector.  Is that gonna be enough to run a GTX 1060 3gb SC single fan  03G-P4-6160-KR?

Do you know the specs of that system? CPU?
Do you know the rated number of amps on the 12v rail for that PSU or the model of that PSU?
350w may be enough with a relatively low power CPU and a decent 12v rail.

Its a stock Dell XPS Studio.  Factory power supply.  CPU is an i7-870, 4x2gb 1333mhz ram, 1 HDD, 1 optical drive.  Power supply says 12va is 12a, 12vb is 18a.  I had an EVGA GTX 550 ti fermi on it for years.  Thought the 1060 3gb would be okay.  I think I found my issue anyways.  Cores 0,1,3 were parked.

EVGA recommends a minimum of a 400-watt PSU on the GTX 1060 SC Product Page (see Specs) which is the same for a GTX 550 Ti.

You can use the EVGA Power Meter to estimate your system wattage need and see some recommended PSUs..You will recieve a 10% off discount code (with conditions) in your email good toward the purchase of a PSU from the EVGA Store just for using the Power Meter.

You can use the OuterVision Power Supply Calculator, which is much more detailed, to estimate your system wattage need and also see some recommended PSUs.

If your PC ran fine with the 550 Ti, it should probably also run fine with the 1060 SC, but the PSU may be running at or near maximum capacity which creates more heat and fan noise and reduces it's life expectancy..PSU/Capacitor aging is also to be considered.

Thank you for the info Bob.

You're welcome..But as I said, PSU/Capacitor aging is also to be considered..The MTBF, or Mean Time Between Failures, is probably 50,000 hours, or 5.7 years, for your PSU, but that's just a figure..PSUs with a 50,000 MTBF can last 10, 12 years or more, depending on usage.
