surround sound phys

the nvidia control pannel has locked my monitors in a spanning mode where the same image is displayed on all monitors which I do not want.  I have tried to uncheck the button but it will not allow me to, it reboots the system and goes right back to the same display.   so how do I get out of this spanning mode?

    never mind, solved the problem by disconnecting two of the monitors.
