Why would it be needed? So you can strap it to the bottom of a race car and have it track the race track? The 12K sensor was even overkill.

Seems to be the new thing.  The highest DPI I normally use is 5500.  Most times, my mice are set at 4000 for daily use.  They track exceptionally well...Not  sure what the higher DPI serve...but I am sure some will use...

I use 1000 DPI and nothing higher as I feel it's too fast for me.  My screens in order are 1080p, 1440p, 1080p.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

it seems that power efficiency is the biggest thing I noticed listed there. To me, a max dpi of 16k is just an afterthought that doesn't mean anything. (it seems it does that by adjusting the polling rate from 1ms to up to 8ms depending on what the programs determines is or isn't needed.)

I now see news... I could imagine only how work G903 Hero 16K.
Very hard decision between Wireless G Pro and G903 Hero 16K.
I would choose G903 because I have G900 and that's SO GOD MOUSE.

Logitech presented some expensive mouse with suspicious look and I was curious how that could work and how much people will complain and accidentally I bought him and I was surprised. Now I must wait some discount to buy G903 with Hero 16K and to put mine as backup.

Now they have 4-5 models with Hero 16K.
Someone maybe compared with previous sensor? How much last without charging.
Mine G900 3 days. Could be 4 If I disable when I not use him. But 3-3.5 days for sure.
    And charge between 2-2 1/2h.

G903 is still best gaming mouse after 2 years.
Is it possible that Logitech didn't marked new series with new prefix in name to people know when they become available.
Because months sellers will send first older models to people who order except if they not ask and some of sellers will not be informed what inside.
