Only flight sim I ever enjoyed was IL-2. However, this looks promising, may have to check it out.
The benefit of MS's flight sim (other than the MS Flight abomination) is that it's always been open world with "missions" if you wanted to do them. The open world you could literally fly anywhere in the world, except like the extremes of the poles. Though I haven't tried that actually in FSX, but earlier versions the "world" was actually more of a squashed barrel shape and you couldn't do polar routes there was a "wall" once you got to a certain point. One of the best points of the franchise is the ability to incorporate all kinds of addons (scenery, textures, terrain mesh, airplanes, better weather simming, etc.) and hopefully they keep that for the 2020 version or it's going to bomb pretty bad with the main flight sim community who already has lots of options.
