Hello, Is it normal for fan speed to stabilize at 30% while GPU is at 100% usage and its temperature is 78C and it never go higher than 30% unless I use 3rd party software to set a custom fan curve. Is there anyway to get it to run at higher speeds without using 3rd party and is it considered to be a defect? my card is GTX 1060 6g SSC

I think the fans should certainly be more than 30% at that GPU temperature, ramping up using it's own built-in fan curve without any software intervention needed.

    What software are you using?

Uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver in Safe Mode with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)..After restart, install the latest NVIDIA Graphics Driver and see if it matters.

There is a BIOS with an updated (more aggressive) fan curve (as well as the original) for your card posted here by EVGA_JacobF, but your card may already have it..People have also complained about fan noise using the updated BIOS.

Thank you for the fast response. I'm using MSI AB for ingame monitoring & fan control and I did all of the uninstall/reinstall steps also I have installed latest driver but the issue still exists. I never knew about bios update so I will give it a try and let you know if it works.

There's an "i" button in the top-right area of Afterburner that will open the Information and tell you what BIOS version is currently installed to the card.
