I know this isn't 100% confirmed but it's interesting, and possibly concerning for those of us that recently bought a "regular" RTX 2080. A lot of people might be slightly ticked off if they just spent a huge chunk of change on a 2060/2070/2080 only to find there will now be a version with faster VRAM (14Gbps vs. 16Gbps), and possibly better overall optimization of the fab. Supposed to be revealed at E3. https://www.techradar.com/news/nvidia-geforce-rtx-super-gpus-rumored-to-appear-at-e3 Thoughts?

Not an issue as Tech is always changing & the Next New & Improved is just around the corner ... so if you are always waiting for the Next thing ... you have Nothing to Play On. It is important to be an informed consumer when buying anything Because EVGA does Offer the Step-Up it should Not be an issues for Most - though it is limited to those items listed in that program, see link for details FWIW - that Link works for me

I would not worry too much... most everything mentioned in that article indicates that these cards are going to come with a minor "overclock" from the factory and that Nvidia is going to be release some new drivers/software tech here soon. None of that seems all that special too me. One should always purchase the PC hardware that they need... if you have followed this with your original purchase than you have nothing to worry about. Technology changes too fast these days to always have the latest and greatest.

That’s the cost of buying brand new anything... I remember quite a few people getting super annoyed when the Titan Xm came out and was top dog, and then the 980ti came out 7 months later and people flipped tables because they had “the best” but then something newer came out that was just as good or better.
If folks don’t want to run into this scenario, don’t buy electronics.
Nvidia should change the name at least, 2080 Super would be nice... why not.

The way I look at it is was Street Fighter 2 a good arcade game or did it only become good when they made Super Street Fighter 2 The New Challengers Turbo Hyper Fighting Tournament Edition? At the end of the day it's about being able to play games and at the end of the day I would be surprised if the real world difference in games is really that much as I could see a lot of games running exactly the same with some games going 3-5fps difference if I had to guess. If you did a blind test of gaming on two cases one with a 2080 and one with a 2080 Super I would expect that people wouldn't really tell them apart.

so this means the regular 2080 will be closer to the ti. hmm, curious to see some comparisons on the cost / fps ratio.

I am mostly wondering about 4K gaming since it will be interesting to see if faster memory is needed or not. If faster memory is important we will see it mostly at 4K and possibly in NVLink tests.
