Got my block. All screws are fine and the acrylic is intact. However, it looks like the OLED module screen was sneezed on before it left the factory. Don’t think it has a sticker on the screen either. The module is also lopsided depending on how you look at the block. Highly annoying considering the price of this thing.

Edit: Nvm it was a sticker....lmao
The OLED module is indeed lopsided though. Bizarre.

I had to correct the previous post of the screw size its M3-.50 x 8 not M3-.50 x 16, i picked up both sizes but the 16 was to long.

Any (Set Screw or Countersink Screw) longer than a M3 #6 and you will break the Acrylic, the Screw Hole does not go all the way through.
The Screw that comes with the Block is a #6 Screw
Now I know why I got this last week on Amazon

M2 M3 M4 Alloy Steel Screws Nuts and Washers 1200PCS, Sutemribor Hex Socket Head Cap Bolts Screws Nuts Washers Assortment Kit with Three Hex Wrenches

It will also depend on what type of head is on the screw that is used, a flat heat screw will not go down into the pilot hole like a countersink screw will so there will be a small difference in what length screw can be used according to the head type but there is enough threads in the block to at least put in a longer screw then came stock for sure.

Yes, Why I put (Set Screw) I guess I could have put Countersink Screw instead.
In a wider sense, the word can be used to describe all headed screws, including ones with conical-bottom (countersunk) heads.
(In this sense, the opposite of “cap screw” is “set screw”.)

I've used a long set screws as a stud - then washer & hex nut - sometimes its a better way

I should have bought a lottery ticket

As in your block isn’t broken? lmao

My block was fine, considering I live on the other side of the country, i figured i was going to get mine in a thousand pieces. But that oled screen bracket is stupid flimsy, it almost makes me question if anyone on this side of the world has looked at it yet. They need to go back and add another screw to the top by the screen in a bad way. Ill be putting mine on tomorrow, Ill let you all know if it stabilizes it.

So after determining that these little screws that hold on the OLED are a M3 thread i went to Lowes and got some longer M3 screws that were in the Hydro Copper and replaced them. Now the hydro copper that was going in for RMA i have been able to fix with the longer screws even though the block was broken out. Even the new block i received that wasn't broke i put the longer screws in just to keep from breaking in the future.  The threads in the block are deep enough they just didn't use long enough screws. I ended up using M3-.50 x 8 screws. Photo's attached. As far as the tool for removing the original screws they are an Allen wrench size 2,0-5/64"

Thanks for the info!!! Much appreciated.

Hit Home Depot and grabbed a 2 pack of stainless M3 0.5mm x 8mm flat head machine screws and a pack 3 pack of M3 0.5mm x 8mm socket cap screws since they were black to match.

Ended up using the black socket cap head screws since they were black even though they rest above the surface and stick out. Looks industrial so goes with the look hehe.

Now to tear apart the system for the new build!

I do and am all set.. but they insisted on sending a new one and I agreed as he stated they could get it to me the next day Sat as I'd be ready for it then and it wouldnt hold up the build.

So are they wanting you to send yours back?
I was going to but decided the chipped block with the longer screw was stronger then a non chipped block with a short factory screw. Plus with as many that are being received chipped who's to say you won't get another one that's chipped and even my second one came in good condition no problems but I removed the short screws and put in longer ones anyway just to prevent the problem from happening.

Yeah that's how I feel and I stated to them when they mentioned sat delivery.. I said if they can send me a non broken block by sat then I'll agree to it.

I'm not willing to hold off till Monday with the chance the next block would be the exact same.

Yeah I was so disappointed when I got my exc800 and it was defective. The 450 is 24v and requires the separate power supply to plug into wall correct?

Yeah your 800 should probably open up and just run a short loop by itself just to make sure it runs and cools and get familiar with the settings. That's how I found out mine was defective before even hooking it into my loop

I haven't had the opportunity to open and check my RMA'd block but I need to get the original shipped. Maybe I can get it done this afternoon.  Once the Block is mounted it seems like a non issue as long as the crack doesn't travel and obvs no leaks. I will also replace screws but for now the block will live on the shelf until mid September. Who knows maybe there will be some RTX killer apps out by then.
