I guess it does make me wonder about if there's going to start being a ton of these threads all promoting their own code. But it's possible that might not happen at all, and it'll be a rarity. Time will tell I guess.
I'll keep my soapbox and "the end is nigh" signs on standby however :P

I agree, and that started to happen last time, so threads to promote associate codes were deleted. I posted to try to highlight this issue starting again. I guess we'll see. :)

You can promote an associate code but it’s best to think about the product and mention the features that would matter to you. While a catch all post can work if you tell someone why you would pick a fully modular PSU over a simi modular PSU I feel people are going to be thankful and more likely to use the code.

It is weird how EVGA is doing nothing about the self promoting of Associate codes. Allowing it in the signature is one thing but allowing everyone to make a topic to promote themselves.... Now if we don't say something positive about Associate program, evga reps will delete our post. How long until they start censoring any criticism about evga products.

EVGA will not be censoring criticism, but off topic posts are removed. Those two subjects are not the same. No posts have been removed because someone said anything negative about the program.
EVGA has also stated that associates codes are allowed as threads, so they did do something about the self promotion of associates codes.. they authorized it.

Exactly and not to knock down on competition via program, I think EVGA did a bad job explaining the program by making people think they had to join in to get those deals which declines the use of codes which is a bummer to the vets in the program who frequent and assist in the forums daily. I think joining the program should have not only have required elite membership but a certain amount of years as a member. This could also backfire and turn into a botters paradise with a bunch of new accounts spamming the interwebz all over the place.

Yup. A new member with only 4 posts to date posted a new thread a few days ago with absolutely nothing in it but his code. I reported it for promoting. In the past that sort of crap was deleted, and rightfully so imho. Mods declined and said it was allowed now, so I responded that I'll post this thread to make a point. I thought we'd suddenly end up with a dozen noobs posting similar threads and Mods/EVGA would change their mind about tolerating it, but that hasn't happened. Sorry, I tried! Imho it should only be in the signature. Of course y'all could also make new threads and maybe we'd see a reversal of that decision, but that would be up to you...

It we saw an early rush of people thinking they would make a mint off it and get a Kingpin card out off of it. The reality is you can get some EVGA bucks but it’s not going to be a mint. With Folding at Home though I feel people can get a very good savings.
As for the posts the quality really matters. The one above that clearly states the program is good for getting people interested in buying to read and understand the program.
