Hey guys,

Okay, so this is a B stock item first off and still under warranty, second, the fans do not come on no matter what the GPU temperature reaches. They do, however, work when PXOC is loaded. So what gives here? Thanks for the help!

There may or may not be a problem.

First of all, what GPU/Power/Memory temps are you seeing in PXOC?..The fans won't run until temps get hot enough, and I think that's around 60C.

Turn off Automatic Fan Control in PXOC and check on it.

Those cards have a Double BIOS..Sounds like maybe you have just the opposite of what's described in this thread..Check the Double BIOS switch position.

GPU Temp is 33, power temp is 34, memory temp is 34 also. That's with PXOC running. The fans aren't coming on at all without PXOC running. How I found this out was when I was playing Sniper Elite III and I started getting Windows warning messages about GPU temps reaching 82, 87, 90, 95 C. Had a heart attack, shut down the game, then downloaded PXOC. If I turn off auto fan control the fans will still operate. It's when I exit PXOC that they will stop and not come back on again until I reload the app. The BIOS switch is set to Master.

I would Contact EVGA and see about maybe setting up an RMA, or return the card to where you bought it from.

If you uninstall PXOC, the card should work fine on it's own without software intervention..You can use GPU-Z to monitor temps.

It doesn't work without PXOC running so an RMA is a way to go I guess. Thanks for your time sir and have a great day!

Unfortunately, yeah..But sending it back to where you bought it from (if other than EVGA) for replacement might be better, if you can.

Thanks, you too..And welcome to the forums.

I have this card , on the main bios the Fans don't spinup to 60°c is reach , so I switched it to the slave bios on which the GPU Fan (only) spins at about 15-20% RPM  = +/- 600rpm at all times even when not loaded , which just feels "safer" to me especially with high Summer ambient Temps.  ( it also allows 130% power target on the Voltage).

However at 80-90° they should both be running hard, so it sound like you need a bios flash at a minimum.....
