Hi all, so this problem is driving me crazy. A couple of days ago, the GPU started
underclocking itself to 1200mhz. I have not made any visible changes that may have caused this. I have only been downloading Windows 10 updates.
I was using the latest stable MSI Afterburner version, and even after I uninstalled it/stopped using it, the problem persisted. I have no idea what to do to solve this problem, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Notes: My GPU version is XC Gaming (RTX 2070). Motherboard is Z390-F Gaming, with latest BIOS Update installed. Nvidia driver is up to date. Fans seem to be fine as well. I haven't noticed any abnormal behavior or temps. Nvidia power setting is set to "Optimal Power", and changing it to "Prefer Maximum Performance" did not make any difference (problem persisted).
Edit: It is worth adding that the underclocking keeps going on and off, but there is seemingly no justification for it, because 1: The game I'm playing can use MORE resources than given when the GPU underclocks itself. 2: It is not a problem with the fan/temps. Something else must be messing things up.
