Have a GeForce GTX 1650 XC GAMING card and was wondering if Precision X1 is necessary or needs to be running all the time.

I'm not overclocking the card at the moment and it has a 1860MHz Boost Clock, but after scanning with PX1 got a +75 for overclocking.

1) Is the card capable of reaching 1860MHz by default without using Precision X1 software, or must I input +75 under GPU Clock?

2) Would Precision X1 be necessary to control fan speeds or only if I set a custom speed curve?

3) How can I disable the Precision X1 logo when the program starts (only software doing this)?

1) It should but a lot depends on temps, which things like your airflow can affect. You can tell by running Precision and see what your GPU clocks are reaching along with temp.

2) Yes - you can create a static fan speed, and then close Precision. If you run a fan curve, Precision will need to remain running. Without having set any fan setting in Precision, the card will use the default of 0 at idle until it reaches a certain temp, when the fans will kick in and adjust as the temp rises.

I myself have two fan settings in Precision X1, one for desk top use with the fans at 40%, and one for gaming with the fans at 90% along with my GPU overclock. I have these two settings assigned to profiles.

No you do Not Have to Use X1 --->  Nvidia Boost 4.0 is hardware based & will OC your card based on "Boost's algorithms

Many/ Most current GTX & RTX cards can exceed the "stock MHz" advertised on the specs because of Nvidia Boost

Yes, for custom curve Use X1

For Static Fan speed - Change to % you want - then Select a Profile number 0-9 - then click Apply button - then the Save Button - Now You Can Close X1

It’s really optional if you want to use it and doesn’t need to be loaded all the time if you don’t like it. Just keep in mind EVGA is putting out builds often for it so maybe some good feedback about what you don’t like could help them make it so you would use it.

1) What would happen if I enter the PX1 scan result of +75 under GPU Clock, does it make a difference, or is it ignored since the card is factory overclocked to 1860MHz?

2) During the scan the GPU clock reached 2100MHz and temps around 47-57C. Ambient temp is around 83F.

Trying to get a feeling for how the card and software work together.

The Scan is just the GPU being Tested for Max stable OC as the Scan determines in your PC

If you Save that +75 to the GPU Value in X1 ---> to a Profile number, then click Apply button & then Save button ---> that new Value would be Available while X1 is running.

#2 - Those are some great numbers 57C in a 83F room & 2100 MHz

However if you want best Automatic performance ---> Just move the Power & Temp Target Sliders full right & set your fan Curve or higher static fan speed say 80% - 100%

Again Nvidia has the "Baked In" Boost 4.0 ---> this will allow the best "Hands Off performance" Required for the task you are doing.

Manualy OC allows you to get every last MHz possible but requires - Small adjustments & Lots of Testing for Stability

Scan tool results is a "shortcut" to a Good Stable GPU OC setting

Should Target Power & Temp sliders be linked?

After the scan noticed they were linked.
