Looking for a cheap 2.5 SSD for sata 3Gb/s port,  pricepoint is around $50-70ish, Id go with a 1TB 2.5 SSD, but Im betting the 1TB's drives will be doing under $100 in a few months.

feedback?

    Samsung 860 EVO.
I believe in Samsung or Intel SSDs.

Because I can't afford Intel domination I install Samsung in my PC.
    850 EVO 1TB - 970 EVO + 1TB.

Buy 1TB version no matter on SATA II Ports. Don't listen advice as.....Buy cheaper, it's same because your port, etc...
You will change platform before SSD become outdated and small size for future.
And after 3 years I still save Samsung 1TB, I used him for OS and now only drivers are on him.
I use CORSAIR Force GT 120 from 2012 as Gaming SSD mostly, still work as first day.

From your 3 choices there, the WD BLUE seems to be faster, by a nano-blink, and they've always made good stuff.

Drive manufacturers often have some kind of optimization tool like Crucial has Crucial Storage Executive that includes Momentum Cache.

Mine works good..Now it works fantastic since I enabled Momentum Cache which made an astronomical improvement in performance as you can see in the attachments below..If you haven't enabled Momentum Cache in Crucial Storage Executive, try it out..You can disable it at any time.

Out of the three I probably would pick the WD but that is because as you said I would expect 1TB to come down in price. The 500GB would make a good OS drive or you could use it for programs. Then I would set aside like $5 a week and by the end of the year buy a 1TB drive for programs and games. I do like the Samsung drives but you are looking at about a 30% increase in price. I kind of think that money might be better put aside for a 1TB drive to go with it.
