SLi on old videocards problem

My config: i7-9800X, x299 Dark, BIOS 1.17, Win7 x64.
Two videocards in: PE1 & PE4 slots (as in manual), when I take two identical 8800 Ultra, I cant see SLI options in NV Drivers, only PhysX variants. I've used Drivers version: 186.18 / 190.62 / 320.49 / 342.01
 
When I take two GTX580 in PE1 & PE4 slots in this OS, with 391.35 Driver, near PhysX options appear SLi, and SLi works. When I changed 391.35 to 285.62 version, there is No SLi option again.
My Quetion: Who is which OS version used for SLI on old Vodeocards and what Driver version make possible to use SLI? I also want to use two 7900GTX and other videocards, but do not waste time on looking for sutable drivers. Who have pair old videocards tell me what do you use to make SLi Ok.

i9 10980XE, 32Gb DDR4 4133Mhz, EVGA x299 Dark

    SLI option doesn't appear if at least one card is running PCI-E below x8, so check in BIOS or GPU-Z how the cards are using PCI-E lanes.

    I am kind of wondering why the want to use the old cards in SLI? It seems like a pretty modern build that would be held back by the video cards even in SLI is the reason I ask.

    Did you set the Mode in the Bios to Legacy Mode and Enable CSM?
    You have 44 PCIe Lanes with that CPU so this is not going to be an issue.
    Do you see the two cards in the Bios?
    If so what are they showing they are running at?
    Maybe Forcing them in the Bios to GEN2

    Issue
    With some games and applications, you may experience little to no performance gain or even a performance drop with 4-way SLI or multi-GPU configurations.
    Resolution
    1 Open the NVIDIA Control Panel, then click Manage 3D Settings from the navigation pane.
    2 Click the Global Settings tab, then scroll to the Power management mode feature, click the corresponding list arrow and select Prefer maximum performance, then click Apply
    　
    Changing the Primary Display Across SLI GPUs Takes Longer than Expected
    Issue
    On an SLI system, switching the primary (or SLI focus) display when each display in the SLI group is connected to a different GPU takes longer than expected.
    Explanation
    On an SLI system with each SLI GPU driving a display, the display connected to the slave GPU is the primary display (also the SLI focus display).
    In order to switch the primary display to the one connected to the other GPU, the master and slave GPU configuration must also switch.
    In order to reassign which GPU is the master and which is the slave, the driver must be reloaded.
    It the process of reloading the driver that takes the additional time.

    Not to high jack this, but I got a question regarding that. Would performance or FRAME-TIMES be affected by which card is master or slave? The way I wondered this is because the physical PCB trace back to the cpu. So wouldn’t the top card closest to the cpu be the better master?

    TLDR: is the top card better for master because it’s closer to cpu and less pcb wire.

    Maybe one of the ultras has a defective sli finger.
