The hybrid is just as easy for tear down and LN2, and allows the bencher to pewter’s with lower temps overall, so the hybrid would actually be better and the split memory and VRM plates can assist so that the VRM plate doesn’t need to be removed when slamming voltage through them to the core.

+1
Or to install the Hydro Copper Water Block.

My phone is killing me with the word changes today lol..

What people don’t realize is that teardown of a hybrid is just about the same as the stock air cooler. There may be a couple more pieces to track, but that doesn’t change anything about the teardown at all.

Is the Hydro Copper block going to be compatible with the copper heatsinks that sit on the PCB? I would assume so but I can’t remember if any of that info had been stated before.

They are not used when you install the Hydro Copper Water Block.
The Hydro Copper Water Block Cools the GPU and Memory along with the VRM.

Actually I hit 19095 FSX with both workflows.
Workflow #1 was live adjustments to test like GT2 stability and then if I was able to pass GT2 with the correct framerate I would run a full lap.
Workflow #2 was soft rebooting every classy tool change. the end result of both workflows for FSX was 19095.  I try to do most of that testing offline its unfortunate when someone "Cough Cough" "Galax OC lab" uploads every 2080 ti score they ever got... Im pretty sure some people do the opposite and sand bag there 3DMark scores untel they need them.

How does the kingpin compare to the 2080 Ti XC hybrid 11gb? I looked at the specs and they don't look much different. I'm new to computer building, so I cant tell much of a difference.

What about performance? The numbers look basically the same to me. How does this justify $400 difference?

Why isn’t it? There’s around a 10% bump in performance- is that worth $400? Are there any games that even need this? What’s the point of it?

That’s what I don’t get. What’s the point? The more I look at the difference, The difference seems so negligible that I’m starting to question whether it’s actually even worth it. What are you expecting to get out of it vs the 2080ti ftw?

Power! Higher power limit = higher sustained overclocks. Stable clocks.. lower temperatures with double the rad and way over built card made for record holding benchmarks and support for ln2 cooling.

I returned my ftw3 on a hydro copper block with 2190-2205mhz and mem running at a 8450/8475mhz for what?? More power!!

Ftw3 has a low power limit of 360-384watts. Kingpin 520watts!

More power!

For people that know.. its everything.

If you have to ask that question so many times, you have probably already decided it isn’t worth it to you.

No one here can explain it better than they have.

This is a beautiful card. Because the Titan RTX has 24 gb of DRAM, I’d lean toward that one for my purposes and with bonus $$$ coming up. But like previous Kingpin - a work of love :-)

Because it’s so incredibly over-engineered (in a good way) - and so freaking fast - I suspect you could hammer this thing 24-7 for high speed trading instead of paying huge $$$ for the tesla or quaddro line. Almost purpose build for forex.

I used to mine. Now I compute.

My card on air was terrible. Tested the night before I returned it. Cant remember without my notes but it prob was 2130mhz maybe stable at 1.68v and hitting power limit. That's at 50-60c tops in firestrike.

2145-2160mhz was my top benchmark in firestrike cause it was mostly under the power limit.. think 18666.

I'm more stressed about the memory as that card was fine at 4450 and benching at 4475mhz.

Can be had at microcenter open box at $1295.96!

I'm crushed now as my old faithful 1080ti ftw3 can only do 2023mhz on air! 53c top.

53c top.

I returned my ftw3 on a hydro copper block with 2190-2205mhz and mem running at a 8450/8475mhz for what?? More power!!
Ftw3 has a low power limit of 360-384watts. Kingpin 520watts!
More power!
For people that know.. its everything.

I hope you are not sorry, my card is only good for 2160-21750MHz @ 2190MHz it Crashes.

I wont be worried about it till shes running at 36-39c on load. And had a few days to tweak.

I am running them Temperatures now and lower.

My card on air was terrible. Tested the night before I returned it. Cant remember without my notes but it prob was 2130mhz maybe stable at 1.68v and hitting power limit. That's at 50-60c tops in firestrike.

Michigan location.. there 2 in stock so if by chance that your local PM me for serial # ;). You'll want my ftw3 hydro block for it and a 480 60mm thick rad and 68-70f room to fly!

Will either of you please explain it to me like I'm 15? I am new to building computers, and I don't know the significance of the differences. At this point, I can differentiate numbers and watch videos on test benches. I'm deciding between the 2080ti ftw vs the kingpin and the stats look very similar.

Out of the box stock they look very similar, except for the kingpin has an extra fan, larger radiator, and slighting different numbers, and overclocking I know very little about.

What are the differences? Why are people excited? How are the cards different when overclocked?

You'll be happier with the ftw3. Install, play with the evga px1 software to set up the fans to your liking and play games.

For someone new the kingpin would be overkill and way too complex to fool around with.

I'd say skip the hybrid version as the single fan rad really isint up to the task. The stock fan cooler on the ftw3 is great and quiet enough at full speed fans to not bother you with headphones on.

I bought a 2080ti ftw hybrid from amazon, and when it came, I had noticed that someone opened the box and replaced it with a 1080 hybrid. Now that I'm in the process of returning it, I had learned that the kingpin was about to be released again and am reconsidering my options. The intention of my build is threefold- video editing, voice recording/audio streaming/podcasting, and potentially, in the future, game streaming.

Two things that are important to me are lack of noise (for recording) and the potential for overclocking. I purchased a i9 intel 9900k with the intention that I was likely eventually going to be overclocking it after I got settled in my groove and learned more about computers and overclocking. Similarly, with the graphics card, I am anticipating overclocking potential in the future. The hybrid made sense to me because I thought it would lead to more silent operating volume while recording/streaming. How I am reasoning the graphic card decision is that I am expecting many years of use, with the overclocking potential I am hoping to squeeze a few more years of use before obsolesces settles in. This is why I was considering the kingpin over reordering the 2080ti ftw. I don't know how to compare the potential between the cards and am hoping that you can fill me in. Thanks for the read.
