Mic only works when on windows sounds page

Installed the NU Audio card today and so dar its amazing.. Slight issue im running into.. My mic on my Audio Technica ATH-ADG1X will only register when I have the windows sound settings page open.. If it is minimized or closed the mic doesn't work at all. I am plugged into the correct port on the card and everything else is good. I just installed the newest drivers for the audio card today from EVGA's site as well. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it with all other aftermarket audio programs uninstalled. Any thoughts or help on this? Thanks

    audio-technica sent us some samples to test with the NU Audio Card, so I actually have a pair of these to test, but probably won't be able to do so until the weekend.

    Gotta it working. Stupid windows. I’m gonna do a big review on it next few days. Damn amazing difference in all the others l own. Amazing. Testing game sounds now.

    Don’t use above 24bit 48000hz on the 2 at headsets. You can use 96000 but it makes the sound grainy as well from the mic. Windows doesn’t recognize the mic as a mic above 24bit 96000hz. That was the issue.
