With the release of update 5.2 on PC, Monster Hunter World has gained support for an optional high-resolution texture pack, which is designed to greatly improve the game's visuals on high-resolution monitors. 

The texture pack will release in the form of an option piece of free DLC content for the game, with the DLC taking up around 40GB of storage space, more than doubling the size of the game. With update 5.2, a VRAM meter has been added to Monster Hunter World, allowing PC gamers to judge whether or not their system has enough VRAM for the title. At launch, we noted that Monster Hunter World never used over 4GB of VRAM during our PC performance review for the game.   
 
This should be a very nice update for this game.

    Since this was the bundled and at fall it is good to know about. Anyone who got the game probably has the VRAM for it.

    40 gigs  ..of extra textures. ?
