I cannot get to locate the usbc cable to USB c socket the backplate won't allow a cable to fully insert into socket is there anyway to get round this I cannot find a cable with a longer tip ideas

Post a picture if the port
 
Did you put the add in case rear IO shield and also leave the stock back plate attached to the motherboard, if so that is your problem

I bet that's what I have done so just remove the stock shield lol cheers buddy

all fixed it was indeed I had left the io panel on when using the plate for the case.  i removed internal panel and everything now fits and works so thanks GGTV-jon your a star

What a muppet I am pmsl, but as you said easy fix, sometimes you just cannot see what you have done wrong, we live and learn tbh did not even enter my thoughts about removing internal io plate and I have been building systems for years, we can all make stupid mistakes I had a good giggle about it thou, cheers

don't use the io back plate just use the motherboard back cover and install it to the case it will do the trick
