Looking at upgrading a GTX 1050 to an RTX 2070, but does it matter on which one I get?   Between the $499 and the $619 the only differences I notice are the boost clocks and the texture fill rate.   This card will be only be used for Folding, and will be overclocked.  Running on a windows 10 machine on a PCI3 16x slot would it matter for work units and PPD?  I know any card will be an improvement over the 1050 and I know there will be a power draw increase.

Thank you for your input.

I'd only look at Cards that are Factory OC - that should indicate the "A" GPU chips

If Hybrid or Water blocks are in your future - confirm current availability

The Blower style cooler is good for use in a case that does not allow good airflow

I'm using a Server Rack with open air mounting and tons of air flow.   Thank you for the help.

This one has the 2.75 heatsink cooler

Use the "compare feature" to see many cards features @ the same time

The $499 card only has partial backplate & one 8-pin - so OC stability may be more of an issue (?)

My 2080Ti Ultra does Clock better than my 2080Ti XC Gaming - maybe just Silicon lottery ?

Great advice CoolGTX! Then there is always the step-up if interested.. Sometimes that works out for the next release. But that limits selection of step-up choice.

Ya, I have both blower style 2070s and an XC Ultra.  The XC Ultra is a beast.  It clocks better and stays cooler.

I'm also interested in an EVGA RTX 2070 card (to replace my GTX 980 Ti) and have searched for some info and reviews a few weeks ago.
I've found an interesting review at GamersNexus about the difference between the TU106-400 and TU106-400A (higher-end) chip, which CoolGTX already mentioned, see:
NVIDIA's Secret GPU: TU106-400A vs. TU106-400 Benchmark (2070 XC Ultra Review)

So the XC Ultra has the better chip (400A) and the XC Gaming probably too (although I'm not 100% sure), see this review at MMORPG:
EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra & XC Gaming: Battle of the XCs

I've still not decided if I'm going for the XC Gaming (€590 here) or the XC Ultra (€610), the 3 slots card space is not an issue.
(and I have saved enough EVGA-Bucks to get one for free ).
