Built a new rig for my nephew. Tried to load a new Windows 10. Inserted Win 10 flash drive in 3.0 USB socket and turned on power. SSD was recognized and Windows started installing like normal. Got to a point where it was installing drivers but got stuck at “Installing Drivers 40%” and stayed there all night. Shutdown and restarted system. Now it does not recognize the SSD to install to. It wants to search for drivers but it finds no drives to search from. I went to the ADATA website but there are no drivers to download for this SSD. I inserted the EVGA USB flash drive in it’s motherboard socket and restarted figuring it may have the drivers but it also is not recognized. Tried connecting another HDD with Win 10 on it with it’s booting disabled. This was recognized but the system found no drivers on it. my first guess would be that your ssd failed/broke during installation, have you tested the ssd on another pc?

I don't have another PC that it will go in. Everything fit easily together when installing the SSD. I was careful to insert at 45 degree angle.

What do you see on this Screen on your Bios? This Drive? XPG GAMMIX 512GB S11 Pro 3D NAND PCIe NVMe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 SSD ( AGAMMIXS11P-512GT-C) NVMe 1.3 Supported so it should work, but I have never heard of this Brand before.

That's the SSD and it is NVMe. I can't set it as the boot disc because it is not found by the system. I received Windows 10 on a USB flash drive. Is there any benefit in changing media? I can't download the tool as it needs some version of Windows already in the system.

Tried moving the SSD to the other M.2 slot. Still no recognition of SSD. UEFI NVMe Information Page finds "No NVME Device Found". I think the SSD has crapped out. Have another coming tomorrow.

Or is not supported on our Motherboards. How do you have the Bios Setup for the M.2 Slots?

This has to be a mobo problem. Removed 512 GB SSD from 1st slot and placed a new identical but 1 TB SSD in slot 2. Windows appeared to be loading fine but hung up in the midst of loading. Prior to loading Win 10 UEFI NVMe Information Page finds the NVME device. After failing to load Win 10 it says "No NVME Device Found". Thought maybe SSD incompatability so installed an old fashioned WD Blue 250 GB HDD. Win 10 went through what appeared to be a normal install. Upon rebooting it still will not go past UEFI and it still does not find the SSD. Any thoughts?

Remove all other Drives but the one you are Installing the OS on. Then Install another Fresh OS Install on your Drive AFTER you Clean any partitions on it.

I'll try that when I get home. The only other drive is the SSD which isn't seen but I will remove it anyway. I did delete the partitions on the WD 250 GB HDD. I'll do it again.

I have learned that with Windows 10 to Never have any other Drives connected when you install the OS. Window 10 Likes to Take Control of every Drive and Tag it when you install the OS and become part of the OS. Adding Drives after the OS install seems to not tie the Drive to the OS so you can add and remove it as needed. Best Also to have a New or a Clean Drive and let Windows setup the Partitions that are only needed for the OS on a Single Dive.

Have only the WD 250 GB HDD in. Deleted all partitions and re-installed Win 10. I get BSOD with message "MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION". I think it may be a driver issue. Mobo manual says to load mobo drivers after OS is installed but I can't get to a point where that is possible. I assume windows has to be working in order to use the EVGA USB flash drive to load drivers.

Are you Overclocking the CPU and Memory on the Motherboard? If so set the CPU and Memory to Auto and do not OC your Computer when installing an OS. "MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION"? MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION BSoD are often caused by incompatible or outdated drivers. And many Users confirmed that updating their drivers fixed the problem for them. So be sure to try update your drivers to fix MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION What Version of Windows are you Installing? Should be 1803 or 1809. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

That bsod could mean you have a faulty cpu, or the voltage for the cpu isn't being properly set. The z390 dark is known to cause blue screens on older bios versions... https://forums.evga.com/Z390-FTW-BSODs-m2876731.aspx Make sure you're running the latest bios.
