LockedCoil Whine From New System

Hi Everyone
 
I had recently got a new PC and it seems to be having a really annoying coil whine noise. I have tested my system and it seems that there is no coil whine without the graphics card. Does this mean that the graphics card is most likely the cause of the coil whine?
 
Here is my system:
CPU: i5 9600k 4.8Ghz 1.240v
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4\
RAM: Corsair 2*8GB 3000Mhz C16
Mobo: ASRock Z390 Extreme4
Storage: Intel 760p 256GB NVMe SSD + Seagate 2TB HDD 256MB
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC Black Edition
PSU: EVGA Supernova 650W G2

    As far as your question goes - if you have coil whine with the GPU installed, and then don't have coil whine when it's not installed, it seems logical the GPU is the cause.

    Coil whine can be caused by a faulty card, or other things that can induce coil whine in the card.
     
    See: What is coil whine, and how does it affect my video card? in the EVGA FAQs for things to check/try..It may be just simply that capping FPS (using EVGA Precision, or the in-game settings) or enabling V-Sync (in the NVIDIA Control Panel, or the in-game settings) might take care of it..But there's other things to try as explained in the FAQ, ultimately ending up in contacting EVGA Customer Support to set up an RMA if the coil whine doesn't go away no matter what.

    The last thread you posted I replied with
    "PWM whine, coil whine, inductor whine/noise are all the same thing. It's induced vibration in the circuit caused by high current switching. It's most commonly found in gaming PC's coming from the GPU as that is typically the part with the highest current load in the  system followed by the CPU. A poorly regulated or failing PSU can also induce noise in the system. Personally, I've always used a fish tank air line as a 'stethoscope' to isolate system noises from coil whine to vibration. Lastly, while liquid cooling does not cause whine, it can make it more noticeable compared to a system using fans which can mask the noise. As far as replacement, EVGA is pretty good about it. I can't answer for anything else."

    The obvious answer is yes, it is most likely the GPU. Did you use anything to attempt to isolate the source of the noise more clearly? So the issue(s) are does it bother you enough that you desire to replace it? If so, RMA. If not, there are ways to minimize the noise, mostly by using vsync which limits FPS on loading screens, for example, which are notorious for causing whine.

    Vsync just doesn't seem to have much of an effect. I have tried my best to isolate the source of the sound and I think it may be the GPU. And yes it is really annoying! But anyways thanks!
