Precision X1 Issues: Fan Curve and Fan Number

When I exit the program, after creating a custom fan curve, the fan RPM drops to zero (not what my new curve specified). How can I fix this? 
 
Also, it shows one fan when my 1660ti xc ultra has 2. Help!

    You need to leave the program open for your custom curve to work. If you close the program your custom curve won't work.

    ok - that's frustrating, but thanks.
     
    It does the same thing with the preset ones too (Aggressive, Quiet, Stealth)

    Correct. Those are also curves. Like your custom curve, those are some preset curves. All of the curves require that the program actively monitors GPU temperature and periodically adjusts fan speed. It can't do that when the program is closed.
