https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-gen11-graphics-architecture-xe,38878.html Intel "Ice Lake" will be the company's first major processor microarchitecture since the 2015 "Skylake," from which you can expect CPU IPC improvements. Much like the CPU cores from "Skylake," Intel has been reusing its Gen9 graphics architecture for the integrated graphics over the past four generations. Gen9 got a mid-life update to Gen9.5 with the addition of new display interfaces and faster drivers. "Ice Lake" takes advantage of the new 10 nm silicon fabrication process to not just pack faster CPU cores (with increased IPC), but also the new Gen11 iGPU. Intel published a whitepaper detailing this architecture.
In my opinion Intel's integrated graphics has been rather lackluster lately. It will be good to see some new architecture.
