Hello, I've seen "Reliable 100% Japanese Capacitors on Main PCB" mentioned in the description of some psu's like 123-GM-0550-Y3.
Does this mean there are non-Japanese capacitors elsewhere in the psu?

    I believe the reference is that - "Other brands" with "Price Point products" - "use lower cost components"

    I agree with Cool GTX. EVGA is stating that they use the best capacitors in their PSUs.

    OP's point is that EVGA says that they use the best capacitors in part of their PSUs. So, does that mean that the capacitors that EVGA uses on its daughter boards or that are attached inside the ends of the power cables (where applicable) are inferior?

    It's a good question. When you advertise that a specific part of your product uses the best ABCXYZ available, that immediately begs the question 'but, then what about the rest of the parts of the product?'.

    The PSU isn't made up of just one PCB. The main PCB has the good capacitors. So, what about the other PCBs inside the PSU?

    Well even if the extra capacitors are not Japanese that doesnt mean it will be crap.
    Korean capacitors can be good, as well as ones from the Philippines and yes even China depending.
    I will say in recent years Chinese capacitors have gotten really good lately and while still not on par with Japanese ones as long as the PSU selects the right manufacturer its usually fine.
    Brands that used to be sub par like rosewill and cooler master have certainly jumped in quality on some lower end units, heck even thermaltake is getting some good ones.

    Correct, the main PCB has 100% Japanese capacitors, while the other boards in the unit may not have 100% Japanese capacitors. The origin of the other capacitors are not advertised. You can see from this picture of a EVGA 550 G3 unit below that the main PCB is (arguably) the most important part of the unit where most of the capacitors reside.
