Hi, for several past months, I've been running with 2x8gb sticks (16gb) with no issues. I bought another pair. I did a research and discovered that the motherboard is capped at 24gb. I thought if I added the third stick, it should increase to 24gb, but it's still stuck at 16gb (from looking at the Computer Property). I've tried putting the sticks on slots #1, #3, and #5 but to no avail. I'm including some pictures thinking they may be helpful.

Sad but true even 64-bit Home Premium  --> got to wonder about our Buds in Redmond

You can try & buy an Upgrade license

While the maximum RAM limit for 32-bit Windows 7 editions is 4GB, when it comes to 64-bit editions, the amount of memory that the OS can address depends on which edition you are running.
    (excerpt from link above)

Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 7:
    • Starter: 8GB
    • Home Basic: 8GB
    • Home Premium: 16GB
    • Professional: 192GB
    • Enterprise: 192GB
    • Ultimate: 192GB

I had a similar issue with my sr2 for a while I was running 96gb of ecc memory (12x8gb). I can only get it to post once I cleared the cmos. One I did this, I was able to use the full array or Ram. but if a reboot had to take place, It would not post until I cleared the cmos again. The x58 is only designed for 24gb/cpu. Highly unlikely that they will rewrite the bios to support it. I ended up sticking that ram in another computer and getting 12x4gb chips. Havnt had an issue since.
