The new GPU Core 22 is released (starting with project 11733) to Advanced, see Folding Forum Announcements: GPU CORE22 (OpenMM 7.2, Win/Lin, OpenCL) going to ADVANCED By rafwiewiora, Thu Mar 14, 2019 The new GPU Core 22 is here! This is based on OpenMM 7.2 - we're starting with the OpenCL version first, with CUDA joining in one of the next few versions. Stability is as good as Core 21 in beta testing - there were reports of AMD GPU underutilization that we would like to hear more about if you notice it. The deadline and credit were adjusted to increase the PPDs by the performance speedup / increase in science produced (speedup is ~20% on 1080/1080Ti benchmark machine). Please watch out for temperature and wattage increases, and consider reducing OC. Project stats: 11733 (DHFR benchmark) core: Core22 0.0.1 # atoms: 23558 credit: 7498 k-factor: 0.75 timeout: 5.8d deadline: 8.2d precision: mixed Thank you all!
There is also a thread with more info and feedback from Folding Forum members, see: Core 22 on Advanced Edit: Due to many problems, Project 11733 and Core 22 are off Advanced now, see post #7 Edit 2: See also the Updated Announcement thread: By rafwiewiora » Fri Mar 15, 2019
Advanced testing stopped for now, due to high failure rate. Thank you all and apologies for troubles!

i love how they mention to watch OC and having a higher GPU utilization is GREAT!

are they really that much more sensitive to OC? well, even if they are a highe GPU utilization will offset the lower clock speeds to reach a stable point.

Update from the Project owner Rafal Wiewiora, see: Core 22 on Advanced By rafwiewiora, Fri Mar 15, 2019
With the explosion of problems between beta and advanced (which is only a 2.5x increase from ~400 --> ~ 1000 GPUs), this unfortunately might be the only way to learn - I worry we might not have a diverse enough representation of systems in beta right now. Anyways, it's off advanced now, thank you all for your sacrifices. I get nice science logs with system configurations for all the failures now, so we'll go from there, see you with the next version!

I snagged a few 11733 WU PPD through the Roof & yes Heavy GPU action - even if only on those 11733 WU 5.5 Million PPD on the RTX Project 5 Million PPD on Nibbler (normally 3.2 - 3.8 M PPD) But sometimes they make my Rigs lock ? at least I think that is why - Yesterday ? Seems to me a Mix of Core_21 & Core_22 on the Same Rig ---> Does Not play nice That is why I posted: Check your Rigs

What version are you running if not 7.5.1? Core 22 was Pulled. I am only seeing OPENMM_21 (0.18) or Core 21 WU now.

7.5.1. I might have been finishing up WU's when I posted. To be honest i'm not even sure what WU's I run. I just install the software and let it do it's thing. I watch enough to keep tabs on my output and ssh in to keep tabs on the hardware. Other than that I'm off doing other things.

7.5.1 has many "errors messages to clear" I'll have to look at one of my machines for the verbiage It is not a show stopper ... just many worthless errors to look at Just went & checked "size of position xxxxx does not match topography xxxxx"
7.4.4 Works just fine ---> with 10 series & older GPU, Titan X Pascal MY RTX is Using ver. 7.5.1

The client just gets the task and sends it back, it is the core that does the real work. I still am on the older 7.4.4. Unless they make it so it won't get WUs, don't fix it if it ain't broke. Still on the older BOINC client on several systems. If installing new, I use the new client.

Well core 22 will work you GPU's for sure. I had to back my power on my cards down to 100 percent. When letting them have over voltage my 1500 battery backup units started screaming since they where pulling more juice than the battery had. Cool thing is went from the lately points of 4.2 million to currently 6.5 million PPD.

So a setup that is stable on current Core 21 projects may not be stable with this core. As mentioned there may be additional issues that this brief test on Advanced on a wider range of cards will reveal. Site Admin

F@h has never supported overclocking officially, and problems caused by overclocking whether from the factory or by the user need to be handled by them. That may include taking off or reducing a factory overclock to get a GPU to be folding stable. nVidia has established clock speeds for their different GPU chips, binning by manufacturers may allow higher speeds. But the GPU's at those higher speeds are only warranted to be game stable, not necessarily data crunching stable. The same applies to overclocking CPU's and overclocking them. As for getting Core 22 projects, they have been returned to Beta while they examine the work logs to see if there is a pattern to the failures. They may release an updated version and put that out for testing.
Oh Well. Time for me to stay off the Forum

OPENMM_22 (0.1) or Core 22 takes more CPU power now as well. On Core 21 the CPU is only showing 6-8% Usage and Core 22 is showing 14-16% Usage. Running client-type = beta to run some tasks to see what I need to Reduce the GPU Power Down to. I reduced Memory from +400 to +300 and the GPU Down from 2050MHz to 2037MHz on my RYZEN Rig Notes about the EXE File. This device does not support double precision??????? Not seeing of they are using NVIDIA's NEW OpenCL as used in newer 4xx.xx Drivers form what I can see. AVX support Required I Found this in the file const real PI = 3.14159265358979323846f;
