lol
Yea, the packaging was definitely very good.  The outer box is sized perfectly along with all the bubble wrap they use to ensure next to no movement of the actual EVGA box and contents.

I installed that bad boy instantly and started tweaking some things and running 3D Mark Time Spy.

Seems fairly stable at 100% Power Target with +170 Core and +1000 Memory for me.

Also updated the BIOS firmware.

Now I just need to figure out what's a good undervolt and how to do that in Precision X1.

cool. i'm finally up. coffee still. lol feeling so happy...

...for the 1st time in five months i have my RTX2080-Ti cards, and not just wishing i had them.

1. after the bios update u did, does ur voltage slider go all the way to 1.3?

don't get me wrong, i'm not going to OC for at least a week. i just wanted to know if ur slider reached 1.3v.

2. have u installed a new GPU-Z and seen if u have Micron or Samsung vRAM?

i think it doesn't matter. Maybe the Samsung means it is a newer card. Many ppl have had success with both old and new cards. i'm still learning all i can. plan to contribute to helping other RTX owners on these forums over the next few months.

edit: i overlooked ur under-volt comment. sry

why under-volt?

1)  Yup, the slider goes up to 135%.  The EVGA thread where I grabbed it from said all new cards should ship with the newer BIOS.  But mine only went up to 100% before the update.

2)  Yes, I have GPU-Z and it shows as Samsung.  My 2080 had Micron and would do some rare artifacting on my Windows desktop which was resolved by rebooting.  Haven't had it long but no issues like that with this card yet.

I was hoping someone might know of a way to figure out which chip is on this also without pulling off the shroud and having to re-do the thermal paste (ie. if it's actually a 300A chip)?

As for undervolt-ing, I just like to have my card use less electricity and run/idle cooler for everyday use and then put it back to default or slightly overclock when gaming.

cool.

we got 11G-P4-2282-KR/ RTX2080-Ti, so it IS a binned 300A chip. (i think GPU-Z/ Advanced Tab/ Drop Down menu will show or just on the main General page maybe.)

if someone gets a 11G-P4-2281-KR/ RTX2080-Ti, then it's NOT a binned 300A chip. And hopefully a silicon lottery winner; and if it is, for -$149 it's a better investment. But- anyone reading this- Step-up option is, as of now, only for the 11G-P4-2282-KR/ RTX2080-Ti.

The card arrived today.  The packaging felt nice and solid without being difficult to work with, no trouble installing the card.  I haven't run it through its paces but it's up and running without issues beyond the need to reinstall X1.

All in all, pleasant experience so far.  We'll see how it handles load later.

Here's a To Do (Installing RTX2080-Ti) List i made:

[ ] Download the latest version of GPU-Z. Place a shortcut to it on desktop.
[ ] Uninstall existing EVGA software.
[ ] DL latest version of EVGA software.
[ ] Boot into BIOS Load Optimal Defaults, make sure you have Gen. 3 selected for PCI-E slots, and correct boot order.
[ ] Be sure to have a shortcut to the version of the nvidia driver you going to install on the desktop.
[ ] Boot into safe mode with network cable unplugged or network card disabled and run DDU. Select the option: "Clean and shut down (for installing new graphic card)".
[ ] Switch the PSU's Switch to the Open position (off) and unplug it.
[ ] Unplug the 3 monitors.
[ ] Remove old cards.
[ ] Install one of my RTX-2080-TI cards. And Connect just main monitor.
[ ] Boot
[ ] Shout, "Hallelujah!" as the PC successfully boots into windows. And announce, "the Mother ship has arrived!". W00t!!!
[ ] Manually shut down the computer for the next two weeks rather than letting it to go to sleep when not in use.

-i only played 15 minuets of Doom, but after adding a Fan curve temps are great.
-it is the latter batch of cards, Samsung memory, latest BIOS (Version 90.02.17.00.8C) already on it.
-the wait is so over.
-still need to install new PSU (EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2) so i can go with SLI and OC system. But i will 1st test each card for a few days each on existing PSU one at a time.
-and big note: with this card, Afterburner (4.60) is controlling both fans np.  Because...
-Still need to buy another 120GB SSD and install Win10.

I'm sure they could have a little bit of flexibility.  But something this important, directly call them up if you can.  I really hope they are able to work with you, man.

Played some addition Doom today. (Entire 4th Chapter... 20-30 min.)
Temps and clocks:

^^ i was using the default curve in Afterburner (4.60 https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html). As far as the wording in the article, it does say,
"All recently release graphics cards are supported....".
Followed by, "this entails the entire Nvidia GeForce GTX Series 10 including 1050, 1060, 1070, 1080, 1080 Ti and Titan X (Pascal)....".
So, without a mention of "RTX" there must be a reason why they can't say it. "All recently release graphics cards are supported....", was enough assurance for me that it would be aok. so far so good. After all, the article is dated 01/28/2019.

nice yeah I think one card should be enough for me though ;)...
Just have to see when I can send my card back next week without missing last weeks BFV Tides of war mission from 14th-20th march :D... will test this evening my UHD 630 iGPU with 720p low settings or will just send it back next friday or ask a friend if he can give me his old GPU for a week.

Oh I just saw on youtube on campaign it´s 720p 30 fps and on multiplayer 1080p 30 fps, so I could get 720p 40 fps maybe... could be possible for tides of war missions and console apart from that. I could also use my 1080p monitor and go 540p 60 fps :D

EDIT now step 3

Hey everyone... sooooo I am incredibly new to all this. I literally just put in my Step Up request from a 2080 to a 2080ti. How long of a wait are we looking at now? I am asking because looking through this forum thread I see a lot of people who started this process last year and are only now getting their Step-Ups. So since I just submitted for it today am I looking at the same time-frame? Seems long... some are 5-6 months. Also, I only have 90 days to Step Up... does that mean that I have within 90 days to Start the process and i'll still be eligible when the 90 days passes and assuming I haven't gotten to Step 2 yet?

Sorry if this a no-no question or I could have found this elsewhere but I am now to all this.

@bee dee
I think I had no choice but it is 10€ and probably normal shipping, when I bought 1080 ti it was also 10€ and like 3 or 4 days from Netherlands to my city in east Germany..
It is UPS Standard.

EDIT Step 4 now, so I can ship my card to EVGA now.Okay it is 18:36 now, so I think I can play this evening the last time whith my 1080 Ti and send it back tomorrow.
I have to send it to munich, so it probably will only need 1 or 2 days to send it each way.

When you are in the queue you are in the queue, the 90 days is the time frame you have to get in queue after buying.
In USA you get your step up probably faster, because the queue is moving since November 2018, in Europe people from September 2018 are now getting new cards so there you have probably to wait longer. So in USA maybe 2-4 months and in EU maybe 3-6 months. Could be faster now though I am only guessing.

I reached the end of the queue today but have not been completely bowled over by the RTX series yet.

Feel a bit sad to give up my trusty 1080ti FTW for a 2080ti black edition for an extra £600 - anyone else back out at this stage???

hm I paid 815€ for my 1080 Ti so the 420€ extra didn´t hurt as much as £600 would do. £600 is like a 2nd 1080 Ti which would give more fps than one 2080 Ti.
Difficult to say if it is good or bad, but if EVGA gives you more than ebay and you want a 2080 Ti, it is great. Seems like you got your 1080 Ti for a very great price so yeah it hurts you.

It still feels a bit odd to have a gpu which costs about 1230€, but the yolo part from me won.
I thought we would get a gpu better than 1080 Ti for 800-900€, but yeah, then RTX came. It is not really a new generation in performance, it is more a after mining price niveau stabilisation refresh.
Up to 1660 Ti is great, 2060 and 2070 are not too bad, but 2080 and 2080 Ti hmm... just buy it.

I reached the end of the queue today but have not been completely bowled over by the RTX series yet.

A single 2080-Ti is better than two 1080-Ti:

Lol that’s absolutely not true :D
https://youtu.be/NynXieDmhsU

The only thing 2080 Ti is better than any SLI is that the frametimes have less dips and are more smooth in single gpu vs SLI, that’s one reason to avoid SLI. But more fps: defenetly 1080 Ti SLI. Even GTX 1080 Sli is better than a single 2080 Ti.

You knew that 2080 Ti is only 20-30% faster than 1080 Ti?

Yeah this is the thing - its only 25% faster at my resolution (3440*1440p) and DLSS does not even work on BFV at this res???.  Think I am gonna pass on this one - oh well hopefully some other lucky punter will get there one quicker

Has anyone here actually started the Step-Up this year? I am curious because reading through this thread all I am seeing is people who have started this process last year. I imagine it'll be at least a 2-3 month wait but I just wanted to know what everyone else is getting as far as wait times.
