I know that I dont need to run in quad or even dual here folks, I should not be getting B0 04 19 post codes on a brand new board and with this ram. The 6800K is a 28 lane card and the 4th slot only offers x8 just like slot 2 on 28 lane CPUs.  You don't think it would be the power supply somehow? If the board is getting power and giving me these post codes my ram slots should be getting power. I have tried all three bios and in the last 5 mins I just did the ram sticks to the complete outside edge of the board. Same codes, I have the most confusion on how I am getting this stuck.

I just populated slots one and two, and it booted up even faster.
That is just the two slots farthest from the CPU to the left of the CPU
That is one odd and one even slot and it works fine.

Well now we know it is not where the ram is being put. Can you test the ram in another computer?
Do you have any other ram to test in that computer?

After looking up the post codes in the manual, those look like CPU and/or Memory errors:

B0 -   CPU memory controller config.

04 -   South bridge initialization.

19 -   Pre-memory south bridge initialization.

I'm thinking the op needs to...

#1 Reset the cmos on his board to see if that helps sort the issue.
#2 Update his motherboard bios if he isn't running the latest version to see if that might help sort the issue out.
#3 Try a different set of ram to see if the ram just isn't compatible.
#4 Try a different cpu as the cpu he has may be faulty.

1: I agree. OP I would pull the plug from the wall, hit the power switch to discharge electric. Pull the 3v battery
press the red BIOS reset button for 30 seconds. Install the battery. Have just one stick in the number one slot.
Plug the PSU back in and see if it posts.

2: Can he flash the BIOS if it does not post? If he has a USB chip programmer maybe. I think he tried the different BIOS with the switch

3: Yeah, another set of ram would be good to try, although he did say the ram worked in another system, z370.
I have ram that I have used in both my x99 and my z370. I do not believe they make special ram for each system.
And quad channel is only two kits of dual channel, nothing special. Although they say "they test the 4 sticks together".
His system will work with one, two or four sticks.

4: Yeah, could be a bad CPU, could be a bad motherboard.

I would try the full BIOS reset, remove battery and plug full reset.....
Then try to get a hold of another stick of ram or any known good x99 CPU if the BIOS reset did not help

OP, Is this board in a case? Maybe take it out of the case and lay it on a box or on a bare wood table with only the GPU, 1 mem,
a monitor and a mouse keyboard. With nothing else attached.
Do not put the board on the antistatic bag, I believe you know that, that is for anyone who may not know.

Try the GPU in slot 1 with a smaller cooler for now if you can.

Heck it should give a beep code with no mem at all. Or a beep code with no GPU at all. Do you get any beeps at all?

OP if you're in NY, I have some parts to swap and test with.

Yeah, pull the GPU and see if you get a beep code.
Pull all the mem and see if you get a beep code.

Try it without the mouse and keyboard. I would try everything!!!

If you do a BIOS reset the beep is on by default
I hope you find the issue. GOOD luck

No, but can always request for evga to send him a replacement bios chip with the latest version flashed to it.

I see a Bigsby tremolo and a B.C. Rich..

On topic.

Too end the confusion here, (not by Bill) this board will boot just fine with one stick as will just about every board out there. There's a lot of noise in this thread. There's is NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL BETWEEN DUAL TRI OR QUAD CHANNEL MEMORY for DDR3 or DDR4 They are identical. The only difference is the memory  is tested as a unit. So the difference is solely in how they are tested for sale. A quad channel kit is a memory SET that has been TESTED TOGETHER to work together at its spec.

As far as the OP's issue, does he have access to different memory to test? It's rare a BIOS defect would be the issue, so it's likely either some incompatibility with board during boot or an issue with the CPU IMO.

Good eye, Ibenez Art100 6 string with the Bigsby, Tommy Iommi  edition SG, and an Ibenez R200 4 string bass.

Well, I believe if the op pulls all the memory and starts it, it will give a beep code. Then at least the board and CPU are working.
Somewhat at least.
If he pulls the GPU, with the memory in, he will get a different beep code.  Showing the board, mem CPU are working, somewhat.

Last time I turned on a board with no CPU, no mem no GPU, I got nothing, no codes, no beeps.
Maybe check the socket real good looking for bent pins, over tighten cooler.
Op asked about the PSU, Super NovaG3, can't hurt to try another if he has one.

Re: X99 Classified/Corsair Ram Kit post codes. 2019/03/15 23:06:44 (permalink)
Ok everyone I have changed power supplies out of another PC to check if that was the issues and I still came up with B0 19 post codes. I have the ram in the two farthest slots to the outside and have tried every configuration of the ram modules that I can think of. I am wondering if I have an older version of the bios or something that is not letting the 6800k post. I have a 5820k sitting over here as well that I can use for testing but they are bost ebay chips and I hope that I am not being a dummy and this is a user error here. Not my first rodeo on the PC but this one is stumping me. There is no change when I switch between the bios and the MCC turbo switch we flipped on to the right posts a B0 19 the FF. So this may give me or US some more clues on where to turn to next. I have 64gb of ram coming tomorrow to try and populate the 4 slots and try and get this working wish me a little luck. First board that I orderd had bent pins but posted these same codes on the 5820k. Ordered the Classified board new and a 6800k to resolve any issues with parts and seem to be running into the same issue. Ask me some questions hope I can give enough info to solve this by my sunday this weekend. OTherwise I am going to be another week out on trying to get this thing up and running. Thanks all!

Did you reset the BIOS with the battery out and the PSU unplugged?
Do you hear any beeps if you pull the memory and GPU? If the board and CPU are good it will beep.
2 beep will be no memory
I think it was 5 beeps is no GPU

Also is the board in the case?
Have you tried the board on a wood table or on a box with just the mem, GPU, keyboard and monitor? Using the button on MB to turn it on?

The 6800 needs BIOS 2.02
When/where did you get the board from? How long ago?
I just got another x99 classy it came with 2.02

https://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/

If it should turn out to be the CPU, here is a link to a xeon e5-1650 V3. It is a hexcore 6/12 same as the i7-5930k
It is multiplier unlocked and they OC very well
It is from a computer recycler, so it should be a server pull and not beat up badly from benching over-clocking..... Decent price.
Where I got mine for my new x99 classy.

Glad you got that fixed.
Now test that other i7-5920k in the board with the new ram and see if it is any good.
If it is can sell it or build another box

Good luck going forward.

IIRC, 3000Mhz doesn't jive well with the X99 Classified.  I remember either 2666Mhz or 3200Mhz worked with the board well since 3000Mhz would change it's BCLK and that would cause instability.  Just thought I should throw that out there if it hasn't been said.
