I'm thinking the op needs to...
#1 Reset the cmos on his board to see if that helps sort the issue.
#2 Update his motherboard bios if he isn't running the latest version to see if that might help sort the issue out.
#3 Try a different set of ram to see if the ram just isn't compatible.
#4 Try a different cpu as the cpu he has may be faulty.
1: I agree. OP I would pull the plug from the wall, hit the power switch to discharge electric. Pull the 3v battery
press the red BIOS reset button for 30 seconds. Install the battery. Have just one stick in the number one slot.
Plug the PSU back in and see if it posts.
2: Can he flash the BIOS if it does not post? If he has a USB chip programmer maybe. I think he tried the different BIOS with the switch
3: Yeah, another set of ram would be good to try, although he did say the ram worked in another system, z370.
I have ram that I have used in both my x99 and my z370. I do not believe they make special ram for each system.
And quad channel is only two kits of dual channel, nothing special. Although they say "they test the 4 sticks together".
His system will work with one, two or four sticks.
4: Yeah, could be a bad CPU, could be a bad motherboard.
I would try the full BIOS reset, remove battery and plug full reset.....
Then try to get a hold of another stick of ram or any known good x99 CPU if the BIOS reset did not help
OP, Is this board in a case? Maybe take it out of the case and lay it on a box or on a bare wood table with only the GPU, 1 mem,
a monitor and a mouse keyboard. With nothing else attached.
Do not put the board on the antistatic bag, I believe you know that, that is for anyone who may not know.
Try the GPU in slot 1 with a smaller cooler for now if you can.
Heck it should give a beep code with no mem at all. Or a beep code with no GPU at all. Do you get any beeps at all?
OP if you're in NY, I have some parts to swap and test with.
