Hello everybody!
A little while ago I made a huge mistake in the middle of the night. For some reason, I thought it was possible to flash my 1080 TI black edition to a Kingpin edition..  This resulted in a total bricking of the card. I have tried flashing it using a second card a GTX 760, without luck. Windows and BIOS only recognize the GTX 760. Have tried windows/bios version of NVflash and countless versions of the program.

Today EVGA Support rejected repairing the card. (Flash the bios chip)

I have spent 2 weeks writing back and fourth with EVGA support with no luck.
In my first post to them, I stated that my warranty wasn't valid anymore, and I wanted to pay to get them to fix my BIOS issue.
They told me that they recommended me to sent the card with original stock cooler. I took some pictures of the card and some small scratches on the PCB. I also took pictures of the modified stock VRM heatsink. And put the original cooler back on in hopes that they would accept the card for paid repair (not RMA).
They told me that they would contact the repair/RMA department for further evaluation. A week later, still no answer. I wrote a new message under the same support ticket and asking what's the status.
Today I got a reply.
They told me that they couldn't take the card to RMA. I tried again to tell them that I didn't expect the card to be handled under RMA, because of the warranty void.
And again told me that they were sorry, but couldn't help.

I'm pretty sad now.

Hi DoctorNick,

I looked into your case a bit, and the main two issues with doing an RMA for you are the scratches on the PCB, and that you don't have the stock cooler. Otherwise we would be able to replace the card for you without issue.

Let me work with the EU team and see what we can do to have you send it in and see if we can re-flash it for you. We might be able to get it re-flashed where you couldn't, but there's also the possibility that we won't even be able to if it's bricked too hard. Once I hear back from them, we'll reach out to you directly and let you know what we can do.

Thank you :)
I got the stock cooler. I have modified (cut some pieces of) the vrm heatsink, to make it fit with the rajintek morpheus II cooler - see pictures. All pictures is sent to supporteu @ evga.com - marked SN 171253639380 - you may want to check out EVGA Support Email 784867
If you want to I can post the pictures here.

try these steps

Have tried this
How To: Unbrick Your Bricked Graphics Card/Fix a Failed BIOS Flash

I may try this: post 2871557

But my issue is that I can't boot with 1080 ti card in the first slot - going to code 97 (debug LED) on a Crosshair VII hero
Tried to flash with GTX 760 in the 1st PCI-e slot and 1080 ti in 2nd - I can boot the machine, but 1080 ti is not recognized anyway - both in MB bios, bootable FreeDos USB and Windows.

Thank you for posting this :)

Have you tried the GPU in another motherboard. It's odd that it does not even detect the GPU being installed in the PCIe slot in the mother board. Also, it appears you have open ended PCIe x1 slots. Have you tried plugging the GPU into an x1 slot to see if the BIOS will at least recognize the GPU? Of course you can't run it this way. Just tossing out ideas to get the card to at least be seen by the system.

Haven't tried that. Have tried in another motherboard z97 sabertooth) - in the pci-e 16x slot.

I think so, but I'd ask evga support just to be 100% sure.
