I upgraded from a z390 FTW that had RGB headers which I used to connect some of my hardware, that I'm aware of, the z390 DARK does not. How would I connect my CPU water block and tower RGB connectors, since the towers headers were really weak and broke?

I've tried getting controllers but they have different ports from the actual connectors, I'm not sure if they fit. Thank you for your time!

    I use this: http://www.performance-pc...b-aquabus-version.html

I bought 2 different Controller hubs but the ports are for molex connectors. Do you think it'll work if I strip down the RGB female connectors to jam into the hubs?

It would help telling us what tower you are using or telling us if the RGB connectors are 3 wire or 4 wire

You start trying to jam the wire for a 5v RGB into a 12v RGB controller and your day is going to get even worse

for 4 wire 12 volt RGB, the coolermaster controller will allow control of LED light strips, their fans, and do control my EK waterblock RGB LEDs.   it has 4 ports but you can get splitters.    I wish the dark had RGB headers but I don't mind adding the controller.

If the Dark had RGB headers then it would no longer be our beloved "Dark" - it would be an FTW lol

thanks Cool.  that controller with splitters can control quite a few fans and does a great job controlling my EK waterblocks for GPU.  Just plug in the USB header.   The software is so so with some presets.

    Hello,

Did you manage to get RGB working on Z390 Dark ? I got Cosmos 700M that comes with a controller, and will get an RGB AIO and corsair commander pro with some LL120 fans. I assume I won't run into issues ? Do I need an RGB header ?

The Dark has no RGB only the FTW has RGB.

Ok. does this mean I will have problems with getting RGB working on the case and the fans ? or as long I will have controller for case and fans I'll be good ?

Edit: I am a little bit confused with how RGB works. I thought RGB Controller needed a normal USB header on the motheboard for software control , like corsair commander pro. What is the use of the RGB header on the motherboard. The Cosmos 700M comes with a controller. And I will buy commander pro for the corsair LL fans.

Some do and some do not. You should not have any issues setting up your RGB Stuff.
That is some motherboards have a RGB Header and some do not.
Other have Controllers to manage the RGB Lighting and even Fans like what Corsair has to offer.
Most plug into the USB 2.0 Header to manage.

For the EVGA Motherboards that have a RGB Header it is managed by EVGA E-LEET and inside the Bios if I recall.
