Looking for a new place to rent, Bend Oregon isnt cheap, Colorado Springs was cheaper "felt like it anyways". So Im looking to rent from a private owner. Im just done dealing with property managements companies and clueless  mangers who should be put in their place and or fired.

So whats some ways that I can find private owners to rent from?

You can try contacting a local realtor ...and asking if they know of anything like you're looking for..

There are places online (like for rent by owner) but I'm not sure how reputable they are....and I hesitate
    to recommend them

    AMD Ryzen 7900x3d
    Deepcool LT720
Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX X670 (Might change..don't like this board)

Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ 4k Monitor
    eVGA 1600W Supernova T2 PSU
    32GB Kingston 6000 DDR5 (2x16GB) Fury

My current property management charges a deposit per person, can they do that? All places ive lived was a single deposit for that apartment, not per person or persons...

You would need to check local Landlord Tenant laws

Many Rentals never get advertised - word of mouth - in my area on the opposite coast

Find out key laws every Oregon landlord and tenant needs to know.

Oregon State Bar - Landlord & Tenant Laws
     Fees and Deposits
            (excerpt)

    Security deposit basics

Deposits are amounts of money that a tenant gives to the landlord with the understanding that the money will be returned at the end of the tenancy, as long as the tenant has paid the landlord all the money the tenant owes, and the tenant has not caused damage to the home.

The most common deposit a landlord may require is a security deposit. Security deposits protect the landlord if the tenant fails to pay the rent or causes damage to the rental premises beyond ordinary wear and tear. Your landlord cannot charge you for normal wear and tear. In Oregon there is no minimum or maximum amount your landlord can charge for the security deposit. A landlord is required to provide a tenant with a receipt for the security deposit. Your landlord does not have to pay you the interest earned on your security deposit.

You should carefully inspect and document the condition of the rental unit before moving in, and again before moving out. Photographs and witnesses can be helpful in settling disputes later on.

You could try Craigslist.  They have a housing section.

My lease ends in October 2019, looking to now move to West Arizona in October.  Just cot too dern much here, Colorado Springs was cheaper. I never knew in a no-state-sells-taxes the state would screw(not the word I wanted to use) you in you income-tax.

But will diff be looking for an private owner to rent from down in West Arizona, actually "Lake Havasu Arizona"  less allergies, cheaper rent, dune/sand-rail trails and no snow and ice.
