Go back to the Last Known Working Driver.

I am sticking to 417.71 for now.

Try a full power down of your PC - pull the plug, hold start button >20 sec
 
If it still does not come back use DDU - pull the internet/ use safe mode / with reboot
 
Many of the Newer Nvidia drivers do Not allow you to use last Known good & other shortcuts

I have a free sync monitor that is on list of compatible with nvidia cards all I want know is how or where to do so I get the g-snyc  in nvidia controll panel in display settings that's all

If you have a compatible monitor VRR features will be enabled automatically following the installation of today’s driver, and any future drivers, giving you an improved experience in games.
 
 
If your monitor isn’t listed, you can enable the tech manually from the NVIDIA Control Panel. It may work, it may work partly, or it may not work at all. To give it a try:

• Connect the monitor to your GeForce RTX 20-Series or GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics card using a DisplayPort cable
• Enable the Variable Refresh Rate functionality of your display by using the monitor's controls and On-Screen Display
• Open the NVIDIA Control Panel from the bottom right of Windows
• Expand the "Display" section
• Click on “Set up G-SYNC”
• Tick the “Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible” box
• Tick the “Enable settings for the selected display model” box
• Click “Apply” on the bottom right
• If the above isn't available, or isn't working, you may need to go to "Manage 3D Settings", click the "Global" tab, scroll down to "Monitor Technology", select "G-SYNC Compatible" in the drop down, and then click "Apply"
• Additionally, you may need to go to "Change Resolution" on the left nav and apply a higher refresh rate, or different resolution

Guy's that's what I'm saying is I don't have I G-Sync box

My display box does not come with that..... any way the monitor is real nice and I'm going to watch dark thirty zero ....... Thank You for all the in put

Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync.(DisplayPort/HDMI only): Allows an Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync supported graphics source to dynamically adjust display refresh rate based on typical content frame rates for power efficient, virtually stutter free and low-latency display update.
To activate Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync, turn off ELMB function first.
Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync can only be activated within 40Hz ~ 165Hz.

Once you’ve confirmed that your monitor is FreeSync compatible and you’re using a DisplayPort cable, check the on-screen menu of your monitor. That’s the one that you activate via the physical buttons on the monitor. Go into the menu and make sure that the Adaptive Sync or FreeSync function is enabled.
Now, in Windows, open the NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking your desktop and selecting “NVIDIA Control Panel.”
You can also find a shortcut to the NVIDIA Control Panel in the Start menu or as an icon in the Windows Control Panel.
In the NVIDIA Control Panel, you should see “Set up G-SYNC” under the “Display” menu on the left side. If you don’t see “Set up G-SYNC” as an option and you’re sure it’s enabled by your monitor, you might need to install drivers for your monitor manually.
In the Set Up G-SYNC screen, make sure your main monitor is selected if you have more than one. Click the check mark next to “Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible.” Choose whether to enable it for full screen mode only or both windowed and full screen modes, depending on how you display your games.
Click “Apply” to enable G-SYNC/FreeSync. You’re good to go! Enjoy smoother gameplay in your favorite games. Note that some games may work better or worse, depending on whether you run them in fullscreen or windowed mode (“fullscreen windowed” counts as windowed for this purpose). You can come back and change that setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel if you’re having issues.

I feel like it shouldn't be this difficult to enable what should be a universal standard.  My friend has the same issue, same monitor I believe.

I just reinstalled drivers a couple of times also complete power downs and all of the sudden g-sync box was their.... I really don't know if was drivers or monitor and graphics card having a hard time.. but if use use the display port it works....If I can any more help to please contact me
