Legacy XP support is mentioned, but none of my existing XP images/installs work due to ACPI compliance issues with the BIOS. I was hoping to do some 2D benchmarking on XP (Super Pi 32M), is there an ES BIOS that has XP ACPI support?

I can say that I made wrong decision when decide to stay with X99. Everything works fine and my watercooling parts arrive soon but I could bought i7-7820X instead upgrade RVE motherboard and sell CPU and motherboard in that time and use EVGA X299 Dark. Only she was not available in that moment. Motherboard is problem, because I used on models from high class, Skylake-X I will find cheaper than Broadwell-E. Now I would have X299 Dark + i7-7820X 8 cores and Supremacy EVO CPU waterblock, EKWB XRES D5 Revo 100 Glass, I ordered. Skylake-X not OC as X99, but far better than AMD and work on 4.7GHz and that's insane speed for 8 cores and impression in games much better than 4.0GHz CPU with 1000 Cores. I would not worry about Cascade Lake or future of X299. More to upgrade from i7-7820X to i9-7920X or similar later. With so good motherboard she force you to stay on that some platform longer time and X299 Dark is really unusuall. Like some Anniversary board or similar.

Hi guys! Its my first EVGA motherboard  Now I have a problem.. I want to disable individual cores, but I don´t know how, I think that it isn´t possible with the 1.07 Bios. Can I disable with the bios from the xdev-side any cores? Bevor the EVGA Board I had a Asus Motherboard and it has this funktion

NVLink or HB Bridge it is the same. See Post 3 or 4-slot NVLink with X299-Dark

The OC guide is great and much appreciated BUT how about a RAM timings guide. There are so many different settings in the MEMORY section of the BIOS and researching every value is overwhelming. I heard that Vince (K|NGP|N) gave Steve at Gamers Nexus (Tech Jesus) some great timings tips when he was doing the #RIPJAY on the dual 2080TI's. Any chance someone could put those "tips" out for the rest of us plebes?

EVGA X299 Dark is definitely most attractive board after SR-2 Classified.
It's nice because in same time Intel launch so many powerfull models who could fit on EVGA X299 DARK and serve people years.
I can't find negative spot in build X299 Dark and i9-7900X except thermal paste and fact that people delid their processors.
I hear i9-9820X is soldered, if that's true... great. He will serve enthusiasts long long after new sockets and chipsets show up.

Even when DDR5 show up, some kits will be slower than faster DDR4 models.
Rumors say attention will be on size. That mean X299 Dark will not become obsolete years.
If someone offer me I would give and Rampage E10 and EK Monoblock together for X299 Dark.
Because I would bought Heatkiller for 80 and use X299 platform.
VRM cooler would stay fabric because such VRM cooling is not available on market with other boards.
On every other board I would buy for 40 euro VRM cooler.

I have used ASUS MemTweakIt, latest version from downloadable utilities for their Rampage 6. It adjusts primary timings in windows, except Command Rate and CAS Latency, which have to go through POST to train RTL. It also adjusts secondary timings and those thirds that can be set in BIOS, even though MemTweakIt lists more thirds. Adjustment within Windows only works for those CPU where Intel allows it - usually 2011 and 2066 sockets. With 115x sockets and with the 7740X (really a repackaged 7700K) adjustments in MemTweakIt do nothing.

Wondered the same thing and not to shill my thread, but I think this is an issue some novice x299 owners should check into as there might be an issue. HI everyone... I am probably going to get slammed....but I need help!!! and or good advise. I have two systems, One is Evga FTW-K with 10920X, the other is Evga x299 Dark ( I Have two of them) motherboards with 10940X, neither of them will do 4.8Ghz, with stability. I am "Super" frustrated :( Now I'm looking at buying a 10980XE CPU to hopefully clock @ 4.8 to 4.9 I'm not looking at 5.0 or 5.2..... Is this possible @ 4.8Mhz?? I am more frustrated at EVGA!! because the auto overclocking with there Bios is somewhat to be desired... I have set them to conservative which is 4600Mhz, and I have also set them to OC Robot which goes up to 5.2Mhz on some cores, BUT is not stable what so ever, when doing testing.... Voltage is at 4.2 or more.... I thought there Bios Overclock was one of the Best.... at least that's what they say on "YouTube" or what I've seen. I have spent a lot of money on EVGA products...... and this is the best?? Is there others out there that have run across this issue??.... There's got to be?? All I what to be able to do is hit 4.8Mhz to 4.9Mhz with stability on testing............ Intel TXU or OCCT (Goal is 4.8Ghz)  I guess the bigger question is??? Has anyone else had this issue, or can you tell be how to achieve this goal for 4.8Mhz to 4.9Mhz... Thanks in advance.....

mkimbroEVGA x299 DARK is just a great board. How did you decide that you have a problem? The OS robot is an excellent algorithm, but it first greatly overestimates the real voltage and the second cannot be considered a 100% guarantee of operation at high frequencies. Because 1. it all depends on your Cooling System, and in your case (NXZT X63) it is not suitable for such overclocking, and the fact that you got 4.8 is already a holiday. To go beyond 5 GHz stable, you need to spend at least $ 300 for good water cooling, and not for 2-in-1 crafts AIO's, as much depends on the success of your processor instance, and not the fact that all the cores are ready to go to 5 GHz at the set voltage, maybe one of them needs more! Therefore, you need to manually configure voltages and change the cooling system. Here is my screenshot for an example, 8 cores, space voltage 1.484 V, but the temperature is only 19C / 66F, in this case I used extreme cooling.
