What temps is everyone getting with this card? I was using Afterburner and never saw GPU temps exceed 62 C. Loaded Precision X1 and I see that MEM2 and MEM3 sensors specifically are as high as 74C. Is this normal?

I played with the fan curves a bit and made it more aggressive, so at 100% GPU utilization my GPU sits at 58C but the rest of the sensors are:
MEM1: 43C
MEM2: 70C
MEM3: 71C
PWR1: 47C
PWR2: 49C
PWR3: 55C
PWR4: 53C
PWR5: 48C

Should I be concerned about MEM2 and MEM3 being in the 70s? My fans are working at about 85%.

My card is RMAed with Micron memory.

It is strange that MEM2 and MEM3 are that much higher and more specifically that much higher than MEM1. Usually temps should be fairly close together right across the board. I'm going to take a hunch and say thermal issue with some of the memory? I know the temps are within spec but because they differ so widely to rest of the board that is my assumption.

Yeah I would expect that too. What temps is your memory at?

Well I still have a 1080 Ti FTW3 and my mem temps rarely break 64-66C. I believe your 2080 Ti FTW3 should have a better cooling system too. Let me run a game and I'll give you an exact figure. The fact those two memory banks vary so greatly to the rest of the board temps makes me think there is a thermal issue with the memory. I would investigate it further with EVGA. You could try removing the back plate and seeing what the thermal pads are like over those memory banks.

It would be great to have additional data points from others to see what temps people average at. Also I wonder if temps vary significantly on Micron vs Samsung memory.

My original card failed after about 2 months of light use. So I am stressing this one for 3-4 hrs per day to see if it will fail soon. Both have Micron memory.

It does seem abnormal to me but who knows. Once I get more data from others I will reach out to support to see what they have to say.

What software/bench gave you the temps in post #1? I just played a game and got MEM1 49C, MEM2 56C, Mem3 54C. Your probably going to want to hear from other 2080 Ti FTW3 owners though. Knowing what your using to stress test the card could help.

Yeah this seems pretty common with the 2080 Ti FTW3 cards.
There were threads on this shortly after we started receiving the early batches of cards.

As with any graphics card the cooling inside your PC case also can affect temps. Do you have very good cooling in your PC chassis?

My thought is that this occurs because games at most use 7ish gb and don't yet tap into the last memory bank much.

Cooling is fine. I have a 140mm on the back and two 200 mm on top of the case for exhaust, as far as intake - 3 120 mm on the bottom / side. CPU cooler is Corsair H150i front mounted with 3 120mm fans. I can try to play with the fan curves on the exhaust side to see if it makes a difference.

In my experience across 3 of these cards this is pretty normal

Ok I will stop worrying then. Let's see if this one dies in a few weeks like my first one did. :-)
