Hi Everyone, here's the latest driver for the NU Audio Card.
Release Notes (v0.1.2.3):
  • Added functionality for independent mute options for Line-Out and Headphone Out*
  • Optimized EQ functionality by adding a 30ms delay after changing values
  • Fixed an issue where the PCM filters (located on the setup page) would not save after changing to a different filter
  • Fixed various audio issues in specific situations
  • Updates NU Audio Firmware to V28

*Note - The speaker icon in the Master Volume section mutes the Line-Out signal (RCA), while the speaker icon under the Headphone Volume section mutes the Headphone Out signal.  At this time, there is no mute button directly for the System Volume.  This will be added back in a future version.  Also, the Line-Out mute is done at a hardware level, which will cause the Nu Audio Card to "click" every time the Line-Out mute is enabled or disabled.  This is normal and expected behavior.

Let us know what you think, or if you run into any issues.

Do you need to uninstall the previous drivers?

    Thank you,

Shouldn't need to, but make sure you exit out of any programs, audio playback, and quit the NU Audio Software.  Otherwise, you will need to restart to complete the installation.

     Installing now. Windows 10 1809 x64 Pro.
I get this Message on boot up, and seem no way stop it.
I am Not using the Speaker Port and I am only using the S/PDIF Port.

Still no Dolby Digital Support, but is being work by EVGA.
Also would be nice the select to Not it start with the OS. Still Testing with this....
Disabling NU Audio as shown below also stop the Speaker error as well
The Save Button still seems to not work at it also did not work in the last version as well.
The uninstall of the last version did not clean up well. I did change the one called Program or Disabled, I cannot deleted it.

Thank you for your feedback and support. Unlike other companies that have not fixed their sound drivers for many years now, I appreciate the attention and support you guys have displayed thus far.

I'll check on the speaker issue.

Default not starting with the OS will be part of a future update.

Save button is unnecessary at this point, since all changes are dynamic.  The Save/Apply buttons are there so that it matches with the PX1 interface, and for now are just cosmetic.

A couple things our Audio team wants me to ask you:

    1.  When you startup the system/software, do you have the NU Audio Speaker disabled in the Windows Sound Playback menu, like this:

    2. Could you provide the additional information on that program if you right-click and select properties, and then the details tab, for example:

    Yes
    1.  When you startup the system/software, do you have the NU Audio Speaker disabled in the Windows Sound Playback menu, like this:

I Set this to Enable and now restarting the PC See Below for update.

    On Number 2

Enabling the EVGA NU Audio Speakers stops this from Popping up.

    Thanks for answering.

For the first, I think we can do a device check to prevent that from happening, even if you have it disabled.

For the second, is that what it shows on the one labeled "Program" from your image above?  The one you said was leftover from the previous install?

I believe it is but cannot find this in the Registry.
I can un-install the this Driver and Check and then install the last Version to see.
I will also the Speaker Settings on the last Version as well.

I have the Speakers Enabled and for now that is ok with me.

Hi Everyone, here's the latest driver for the NU Audio Card.
    • EVGA NU Audio Card (712-P1-AN01-KR) - v0.1.2.3 (Win10 x64)
Let us know what you think, or if you run into any issues.

Hey and thanks for the new driver. Now everything works fine. I just have two wishes for the next driver release: 1. please add an option to set the ASIO-Buffer size and 2. please bring back the Firmware Update Option where you can set if you want to search manually for Firmware Updates or automatically.

    Best regards!

This  "Program" item under Startup was NOT related to the NU Audio Software but did find what it was and corrected it.
On the Speakers being Disabled and showing the Pop up it is the same on the last as well, so as long as you do not disable the Speakers all is ok.

Hi Everyone, here's the latest driver for the NU Audio Card.

I believe you mentioned that surround support would be coming to the card maybe as early as April. My question is that software support for the 5.1 optical surround people have commented isn't supported atm or is that software for 7.1 support digitally for gaming like other sound cards and dacs?

Two separate items.  The support for DTS/Dolby passthrough will likely come in the next 2-3 weeks, if not sooner.

Virtual Headphone Surround support (in-app, that is), will come roughly April time-frame, but might be a little earlier.  Regarding the latter, you can still use Sonic, Dolby Atmos for Headphones, or if a game it offers its own virtual surround, such as BFV, in the meantime.  More details on that later, however.

In terms of the overall audio signature?  So far, there shouldn't be any difference.

A few bugs have been fixed that may have affected audio quality/playback for some users, and EQ changes now have a slight delay to prevent conflicts with the audio stream, but I cannot recall any changes to the overall sound.

Hi, ive noticed that when I play music in any media player the intel speedstep stops working. All frequencies on my 9900k hit almost 4.8ghz and only drop about 100mhz. To test if it was the card I removed the card and uninstalled the drivers and went back to the onboard sound. Played some tunes at the same bitrate etc and speedstep was working fine, decreasing frequency and turbo boost was hitting 5ghz. So put back in the EVGA card and reinstalled the drivers and its like speedstep stops working as soon as you play audio from a media player or website. Is this a driver fault. Ive installed it with antivirus disabled and on a clean install of windows and same issue?

Update: uninstalled the NU Audio driver so card is running off the Microsoft usb driver issue still occurs. Also swapped card into a different pci-e slot no change.

This looks a lot like my issue posted on my profile. Apologies I cannot get the links to work on this forum for some reason. Search this forum for "S/PDIF error on Windows startup/software launching, unusual software behaviour", or click my name to navigate to the thread.

It was because I renamed my audio device to "Speakers" as well. The issue appears to be related to renaming the default name to anything other than what EVGA has potentially hard-coded as the name, unfortunately.

Try renaming "Speakers" to "SPDIF Interface".

Doesn't seem to be the same issue. I haven't renamed any of the settings. Gonna try the card in another pc later and see if the same issue occurs.
