Anyone know what the thickness is of the pads of the 1080ti sc2?  Attempted to research and I don't want to open my GPU again unless I have everything ready to go. When I opened it last time to apply thermal paste I noticed they looked really dirty.  Thanks.

    Thanks so much.

So the thermal pads weren't brittle, but had lots of black on them.  You could see the marking of the fins from the air cooler.   Would you replace them in this situation?

Depends on how much temps looked.

By the way, for the 1080ti sc2 it looks like I need 1.5mm and 2mm.   I started cutting and realized they weren't as thick at all in some spots and wouldn't make the appropriate contact.  Was going to double up on the ones I have but that's prob. not a good idea.

    Yeah, stacking pads isn't recommended.

Hi. I want to make sure I buy the correct pads...

That link says 1mm pads. There is this guide  where 1mm is used on VRMs and 1.5mm elsewhere. He said it worked fine, but would 1mm all around be better?
Also I need to replace pads on teh back plate. They look 2mm thick. Can anyone confirm?

Then this video,  the pads all look very thick.more than 1mm. thoughts?

My current choice is to use the thicknesses like in the guide, and then 2mm for the back.
