My card all of a sudden quit on me.

I was playing GW2 and my computer just turned off, did some troubleshooting and by pulling the power cables out of thr card and my computer booted. Watched some youtube and seen how you can connect one power cable at a time to see if card will do something to test which side was shorted.

Took shroud off of card and the q22 mosfet is burned out. Looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. In this forum people have posted that the q22 has burned out on the evga 970.

The card is out of warrenty bought in 2014 but this is crap that this problem is effecting alot of people on this q22 mosfet.

Would EVGA still fix this problem if it has been a problem because it sort of seems like it.

I would attempt to fix this but I don't know the exact specs of the mosfet 4C10N for example the volts and amps that match the 970.

EVGA doesn't offer a repair service. Try to fix it yourself, pay someone to try to fix it, or just skip straight to buying yourself a new video card.

Feel free to read the existing 2 page thread for the same mosfet on the same video card:

Exact specs? What do you need those for? You just buy a replacement OnSemi 4C10N and solder it on. The specs are for the engineers who already chose that component for you before the video card left the factory.

    Here you go:

you can try mouser or digikey

Edit: looks like those mouser and digikey links are bad or broken. Oh well. They have them. Just search for yourself.

There is a different volts and amps on the 4C10N on that website. I would like to match the same mosfet on 970.

30ish volts. 44 ish amps. Close enough. That's all you need. You are never going to get a better answer than that. The exact engineering details of the card are proprietary.

Don't buy the 8 amp version (duh). You already had one burn out; you aren't going to replace it with a low amperage replacement.
