Hi,
 
Is there an EVGA tool that can change the fan speed under windows? I'm using a X299 Micro and my case fans are attached to the motherboard.

    Thanks! Are there any non-EVGA tools for controlling the FAN speeds? Preferably a standalone tool (no installation required). What are you guys using?

    What is the exact motherboard you are using? Also what case fans are you using? Is the noise of the fans annoyingly loud or are you trying to increase performance? Normally in the bios you get a pretty good job of fan control based on the temps inside of the case. Often you can set the threshold that the fans will increase in speed to allow smart control over them so the system stays cool when you need it but also remains as silent as possible. Some motherboards will not allow you to control the fans themselves in Windows but control the temps at which the system will respond to the heat inside of it by trying to increase cooling of the CPU. This would kind of being the same as controlling the fans I guess even if it's not manual control.

    I'm using an EVGA X299 micro and three Noctua NF-S12A PWM fans. My case is a NZXT H400i. Two fans are on top and one at the back of the case. In the front I'm using a NZXT Kraken X62 with two Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans in push configuration. I've configured the fan speeds to remain silent during idle operation. The AIO fans are increasing their speeds depending on the CPU temperature. The rear case fan is increasing the speed controlled by the SYS temp (I think). The top fans are set to a static speed since those PWM connectors do not support SMART.
     
    My problem: While gaming my EVGA 2080 TI FTW3 runs up to 72°C. After removing the side panel the temp. dropped to 64°C - hence I need to increase the airflow in my case. My plan was to manually increase the case fan speed when gaming and the easiest way would be a small Windows tool.

    Yeah, I know within the BIOS for my system there is Lenovo's Intelligent Cooling Engine (ICE) that can be set to Acoustic or Thermal and controls CPU and rear exhaust case fan. Setting ICE to Thermal can increase the fans 500 RPMs over Acoustic or can be set to Full Speed... ha-ha, huh what can't hear ya.
    Oddly though ICE does not control the speed of an OEM case fan I installed as a front intake fan even using the intended using the motherboard's fan header for such?
    I set ICE to Thermal for the warmer months and back to default Acoustic for this time of year.
