Hello all,

For some background, I have two 1080ti (EVGA Founder's Edition and SC Black) in SLI along with 5 Dell S27DG16 that I typically configure in 1 x 5 portrait surround. I previously had two 1080ti Founder's Editions and ran this setup with no issues whatsoever, but one of them recently failed and I had to send it in for RMA where I received the SC Black. Expected it to work fine as it's still a reference board, and all seems good - SLI will enable in maximum performance mode, but surround is giving me issues with the display connection error message.

I have 3 monitors connected to the top card, and two connected to the bottom card - all displayport. I've followed the Nvidia connection guide. If I enable surround on either the top 3 or bottom 2 displays only, it works fine. It's only when I attempt to surround any combination of the screens connected to the top and bottom displays together that I get "Display Connection Error".

I've tried a fresh install of Windows 10 x64, tried reseating the cards, have tried multiple SLI bridges. On searching this issue, I saw several resolutions by rolling back / updating drivers but have tried probably 10 different Nvidia drivers at this point, including 418.81, with DDU uninstalls between each. Nvidia control panel and GPU-Z both detect that SLI is active in max performance mode. Tried enabling surround in debug mode to take the SC factory overclock out of the equation. Swapped around the displayport cable configuration. No luck with any of it.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

All I can advise is to try to move your monitors around to different ports to see if that helps get it going. If that doesn't help then there may be something wrong with the sc black card.

Agreed.. not entirely ruling out a mobo issue either at this point, so I think swapping into another chassis will be next. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Appreciate the response, thanks!

might be a long shot, should be easy enough to test

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but this is VERY similar to my exact problem. I have 2 EVGA GTX 3070ti graphics card, and I am trying to do nVidia Surround across 2 GPUs but when trying to do so, I am presented with the error Display Connection Error (and if you click on the link, it just redirects you to a standard nvidia screen with no information).

Did you ever get this working?

In such a case please make a new post rather than reopening up an old thread.
