I added a barrow waterblock to my card, with reports of dying 2080 Ti cards I am thinking about purchasing an extended warranty, but it's pointless if I already voided my warranty. So anyone have an answer?

It will no t void your warranty. Just make sure you do not scratch or damage the card in any way when removing\installing a water block.

You will need to put the original cooler back on it if you ever need to RMA the card so keep the original cooler and thermal pads in a safe place.

as stated above.  You still have your warranty as long as you did not hurt the internal components

    Hello,

I am sending my card back for RMA, I installed a waterblock, and the stock thermal pads were pretty much torn to shreds.

I still have all of the components the card is in good shape.

How do I handle this situation?
I don't want to put the stock cooler on without the thermal pads as I think that would be more harmful.

    Any help would be appreciated.

My first suggestion would be to not resurrect a dead 2 year old thread regarding someone else's problem.

Second, I would just buy some cheap replacement pads if you are that worried about it. However, I'm pretty sure that the thermal pads are not considered in your warranty as they are a consumable item and often replaced anyway. As long as you return the card with no physical damage to the PCB and heatsink you should be fine. Just be sure to tell them the card was watercooled and that the original thermal pads were damaged during stock heatsink removal.

Thanks for the reply, I figured it was better to ask a related question on a thread then starting one of my own, but I appreciate the info.
