I am having problems with the RCA outputs on my Nu Audio card.

Installed the card and have no issues with the headphone output but when I want to use the RCA outputs they don't seem to work.

In windows I see there is audio output in Windows Settings when I select Speakers (2-EVGA Nu-Audio).

Not sure if it is a software issue or my RCA outputs don't work.
Anyone have this issue?

Thanks.

    Welcome to the forums!

What are you connecting to the RCA output? It's going to be a line-level signal, so it may not be audible in your headphones.

Can you describe your setup a bit more?  For example:
    • What kind of speakers are you using?
    • Are you using the RCA to 3.5mm adapter?
    • Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

I am using powered genelec monitors so the line level output is fine.

Not using the adapter.  I have not tried reinstalling drivers but the line in works and the mic input also works.

    I will reinstall the drivers.

Reinstalling the drivers did nothing.  I turned the onboard audio off in the bios and removed the onboard audio drivers previously.

Still no RCA output but the headphone jack, line in and mic in all work.  I haven't tested the SPDIF.

If you use the RCA to 3.5mm adapter with a pair of headphones, do you get audio out?

Also, keep in mind that the headphone volume only works on the headphone out port.  The main volume slider is necessary for the Line-out.

Yea no sound using the RCA to 3.5mm adapter with headphones.

The volume is maxed in the EVGA Nuaudio software and in windows, still no output.
I do see audio levels in windows/setting/sound and in the EVGA app when the EVGA speakers output is selected but so sound from the speakers or headphones using the RCA/3.5mm adapter.
Again, the 1/8" headphone jack does work just not the RCA outs.

What Options do you have other than Speaker?
Like Line In or Line Out
    A- Line Out RCA - R  B- Line Out RCA – L

For output I can choose speakers or SPDIF for the Nu Audio.

For Input I see mic and line in for the Nu Audio.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I believe you have a bad card.  I was worried we would have to troubleshoot some issue with your speakers, but if the RCA ports don't work with your headphones, then there is likely something wrong in the Line-Out section of the card.  You have the Default Playback set correctly, so there's nothing else to do there.

If you're willing to wait until Monday or Tuesday, I can have our engineers take a quick look to see if there's a way to fix this, but this seems like an issue that will require an RMA.

Thanks for the followup.  I will wait until next week.

Yea the RCA outputs don't work to my power monitors or my receiver.
And like you suggested they don't work with headphones and the RCA to 3.5mm adapter.

Also no output to the monitor speakers?
Do you have the NVIDIA HD Audio Driver installed?

I can get output via the monitor speakers if I select my monitor.

I uninstalled the NVIDIA HD Drivers but it didn't help.

One of your screenshots shows you have "Back" headphone selected in the Nu software. Does it make any difference if you select "Auto" and unplug your headphones?

No, since this only applies to either the rear headphone output port (back) or the front panel output (front).

Does this card output simultaneously to RCA and headphone? Given what I've seen of the design (headphone signal sourced from line-out signal path), it would make sense to cut off RCA while headphone is active (to keep the signal clean from whatever is connected to RCA).

Currently, Line-Out (RCA) and Headphone-Out run simultaneously, but you can mute the Headphone-Out on the Headphone volume section.  If you mute the Line-Out, it will mute both.  In a future update, we'll give the option to mute either Line-Out or Headphone-Out, or allow them to run simultaneously.

I can get good output on the headphone jack but nothing from the RCA line output section.

    Hi Mike,

Our engineers also believe this is bad line-out/RCA issue, so it will require an RMA.  I'll have one of our CS reps reach out to you.

Thanks for troubleshooting the issue fully!

Hi EVGA, I got a NU Audio card to for Christmas as a present from my wife. Card installed perfect, front panel output works flawless, but the back headphone and the rca out is extremely distorted, and it has really low volume and unpleasant crackly sound. I have the latest drivers and software also have the latest firmware. Using it in a up to date 64bit windows 10 pro environment. Also the motherboard audio is disabled in the bios.

Does it improve if you disconnect the front audio panel connector from the board?

No effect after the front audio panel connector unplugged. Same, highly crackly distorted low volume through the back plugs.

Jb1234, changing the sample rate on my card has no effect on the back-output distorted crackly sound, it also has maybe 30-40% of the volume compared to the front-out.
While the front-audio-out do produce flawless quality regardless of sample rate. The back-out really sounds like an under powered but completely broken paper speaker, even so i connected to a high quality AKG headphone.
