AMD has high hopes to take advantage of Intel's manufacturing woes. For years, Intel has delayed chips based on its 10-nanometer node, which is considered comparable to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation's 7-nanometer process. Last year, AMD moved production of its latest chips to TSMC after its manufacturing partner, Globalfoundries, was forced to shut down development of its 7-nanometer node.

AMD is trying to claim more of the market for discrete graphics chips. The company's latest Radeon VII graphics chip is the first based on the 7-nanometer node and its second-generation Vega architecture. The combination, Su said, results in 29 percent higher performance in gaming and the ability for customers to handle professional video editing and other applications 36 percent faster than its current top model.

Nice to see AMD making a comeback in a very positive way.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

AMD isn't taking away any of Nvidia's market share with the Radeon 7 graphics chip. That's a pipe dream.

Maybe not but I can see the Radeon VII being popular with content creators who are not interested in ray tracing but need a good GPU for video post processing.
Plus Navi isnt here yet, I think delaying navi may work in AMD's favor with the high cost uptake of Turing and Ray Tracing, not to mention killing off the 10 series and leaving budget builders out to dry.
Its going to be a good year for AMD for those on a budget :D

Intel is more focused on mobile, desktop is not a priority. This allows AMD to move into the market which is now creating a new landscape.

AMD has not been able to move much into mobile but recent offerings are better than earlier ones. The improved integrated graphics make AMD mobile machines viable for basic gaming.

All nVidia has is a GPU, they have nothing else to sell.

The RX 590 is only $90 less then a RTX 2060 and the RTX 2060 beats the RX 590 to a pulp while using less power to do it. Matter of fact the RTX 2060 is on average faster the a GTX 1070 Ti. It's going to be a bad year for AMD's graphics department. :(

Radeon cards should be cheap as price rot from the glut of digital coin mess floods the market over the next few quarters

AMD could hope for crypto currencies to go on a bull run again, then they could have a great year.

Last I looked prices were down 90% for many digital coins, the bear market is working for me at last

Crypto is where it should be after the bubble burst. Time to stock up.

Radeon VII is nothing more than a stop gap to Navi. Might as well cash in on whatever you can. Doubt it's only 5000 units but I imagine it will be a limited run, nevertheless.

I bought a RX 470 cheap only to find the card was borked so I had to send it back

So I am stuck using this old GTX 750 a while longer
