I have my 2080 ti step up on the waiting list ( only recently so will be waiting time). In the mean time I got bored and slapped a block on my 1080ti ftw. Will this affect my step up if I put cooler back on replace thermal pads etc??

Once you are notified that your replacement card is in, you have to return your 1080TI FTW back to it's original condition.

+1 Step up products needs to be returned to factory condition before they are sent back.

I recieved my card quite some time ago and it is still sealed have not gotton around to testing.
Has anyone expericanced issues with their cards? I have a first batch card and I really hope their are no issues with mine!

With the demand on the 2080 TI, one can imagine a long wait. Hopefully first quarter. Depends on how much stock EVGA gets

Yeah, would hope they'd open up the other 2080 TI models to help the Step-Up queue move along more quickly in these kinds of situations...
Oh well. Mine wasn't in until early November. RTX 3000 series might be announced and shipping by the time my turn is up lol... patiently waiting.

ahm it is january 2019 and I have not seen one 2080 Ti model in EU store since months and am checking it several times a day, so I doubt that would help much. And I think XC Black is just a XC with a Little bit slower base Clock and a different packaging so I don´t think it is this.

I am in the queue since beginning of November.
It seems EVGA raised the prices of 2080 Tis with 100-150 USD. The one that can be stepped up to (XC Gaming Black) is now 1249 USD, up from 1149 USD. Anyone knows if the price when entering the queue is 'locked', or will there be a recalculation the moment we are asked to pay? The cost breakdown (in 'My Products') still says 1149 USD for now.

I got my request in queue for the Step up to the 2080ti within the first hour to hour and a half that the queue opened. I received notice that my step up was approved 12/20/2018. Made the payment and got the GPU in the mail. EVGA received my GPU 01/07/2019 (I didn't mail it till 01/03/2019 due to holidays etc.) They still haven't shipped out as off today. I did receive an email response after asking about the status (I was worried it was damaged during shipping) stating that EVGA was currently low on supply and return shipping was taking longer than usual.
My question is... has anyone had this happen? Is there a ballpark time frame I'm looking at before I can expect to see it ship?
It would be cool if they sent some kind of cool swag. I'm not completely upset but it is a minor inconvenience.

Really? I'd be pretty upset if that happened...
If they say your step up is approved, that should mean they have your card reserved and ready to ship back to you as soon as they get yours in the mail.

well I look at it this way email was sent 12/20 I thought about keeping the 1080ti and canceling the step up for about 2 days as I had spent money xmas gifts ( like many others) decided to go for it after some thought. Sent payment 12/26 and shipped my gpu 1/3 so maybe the folks who weren't gun shy got the payments and the cards got it in faster. Also if theres another manufacturer that does a step up like scenario I've yet to hear about it. I understand when things dont work out but hey send me a tshirt, snap back hat or even a mug I dont care. That little bit of goodwill goes a long way I'm happy. I have console games and a back catalogue to fall back on. I really want to play my fps's tho...

I just realized that I got the request to upload my invoice on Dec 19th, a couple days after I bought the extended warranty and started the step up process. I bought the card Oct 7th. Since I'm nearly a month late uploading my invoice, will that effect the process? It didn't say anything that it did after I uploaded it, just the standard "thanks for uploading"

8-10 months if u are lucky to get new card...
And when i was purchasing my 1080TI seller told me that is gonna be not long time waiting, i should wait for 2080 ti come out and then to buy it...

I am pretty sure this has been answered and I feel dumb for asking it, but I recently put in a request to upgrade my 2080 to a 2080 Ti since I just want the best of the best.
I will owe ~$450 in price difference.
My question:
I am pretty sure that I will not owe the $450 until I get the email from EVGA that my card is ready, but I wanted to double check and make sure that I am not supposed to pay that difference now.
I am just trying to avoid making my wait longer than necessary.

I wish EVGA would give us the option to go ahead and buy any 2080 Ti at full price and then allow us to return our older video card (as long as it's eligible) and then EVGA will refund the difference after they sufficiently test it. Of course, EVGA would have to make it very clear that we, the buyer, are taking a risk in that they may not accept the older card.
