So say....I was wanting to start up a channel on YouTube or Twitch dedicated to all things tech related, gaming, etc...

And say I wanted the centerpiece of my channel to be my fully custom, all EVGA component PC which would run well over $5500 in total parts, almost $2400 of which comes straight from EVGA....what would one have to do to get sponsored by EVGA for such a thing?

OR is that even possible anymore thanks to big shots like Jay, Linus, Kyle, Paul and the like?

First, you would need to be established and be able to provide a build like never seen before.

Next, you would need to click the link below and convince EVGA you will be able to build something like never before.

    https://www.evga.com/gearup/

Aside from that, I would suggest just building your own PC, because manufacturers aren’t into giving out hardware without a really good reason and a large audience to convince the followers to pick their hardware.

Well, I have been building since 1998...so I got some skills there.  I tend to have a design philosphy much like Snef....nice, clean, simple builds that are beautiful and elegant.  No complications.

My current rig is no exception.  Can only see the 24-pin and 8-pin cables inside the case.  Nothing else.  Just showcasing the hardware with tasteful lighting.  No RGB bull.  lol

Take a look at the gearup with EVGA builds. Can you compete with them, and do you have the resources for laser cutting and making one off cases? If so, put in an application and design sketch.

you need a youtube presence like this guy  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIzvr3EVCOs

he reviews a lot of stuff.  is clear and concise.   Gets his donations because he has established a following and hits the important points to hardware evaluation.  He also does his homework.   He basically sells the product in his videos for the manufacturer.   EVGA has a pretty good web presence and media to discuss their products.  but it never hurts to ask.

post a mods rig. I'd like to see your stuff.   https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-MODS-RIGS-f33.aspx

Make it before you fake it. If you build it (the computer, the audience, and so forth) EVGA will notice. EVGA investing in you from the get-go in order to build your computer and audience? Unlikely.

On sponsors, they come to you, you don't come to them. In the case of EVGA, my last sponsored build with them they came to me back in 2006 for a mobo review. My most recent build sponsorship was by Optoma in 2017. The sort of sponsorship where you go to them and they accept tend to only be swag level merchandise and allow you to use their logo. Not anything of real value. Why would anyone give you hardware to do a build? Have you established yourself to merit such a thing? Only reason to do sponsorships is to give the company higher visibility. They need to be interested in what you do and approach you about it. How would sponsoring you give EVGA higher visibility? If you can't answer that, you're going about things wrong. As far as YouTube or Twitch channel, are you even affiliate or partner level yet?

This post was over a year old. After posting this thread asking about sponsorships and components, the user stopped logging into the forums.

I build my rigs to sponsor self or myself😸🙉

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

to even be thought of about getting sponsorship is hard.
I my self tryed to do the same thing back in 1999.
I was told many time by companies, they wanted to know how many years i been doing videos, who all have i done, how many times have i paid for my own stuff , how many builds have i done, how many times have showed my build, how many times have i done a video about unboxing, ect ect ect .. but the one question they all have asked is How many years have i been doing this ..
my answer to most of those questions was 0 or just started ..

So i gave up, after about three years of trying ..
So to get companies now is really freakin hard, unless you been doing youtube videos for YEARS and been building and showing your builds at local area computer shows, ect ect... sometimes you might get lucky and find a company that is just starting out and willing to take a chance to show people there product ..

Don't you mean fake it until you  make it?

As in, Invest $$ into yourself as if you had a sponsor, so that they see you and actually sponsor you? lol

Nope.  Make it, don't fake it.  They can see through the fakeness.

Investing money into your self is making it, not faking it.

Faking it is doing nothing and just having a loud mouth lying about what you supposedly have done, when in fact you have not made any effort to build towards your goal.

"fake it til you make it" should be read as "try until you succeed" not "lie until someone believes you" although it may be easier to read it as the latter.
(if you are trying to tell convincing lies however... I'm not sure how that works, maybe both apply? Though you have to render yourself immune to gaining a reputation until you get good at it and... ah nevermind, I don't really know how to go about being a pro liar ... or do I?)

Become an online reseller. I mean seriously, there are easier, and far more straightforward, ways to make $$$
