Vertical Mount Riser Cable Issues. Please Read.

I almost wasted on a RMA, a Perfectly Good, Brand New EVGA Elite FTW3 Video Card due to a Bad (Cooler Master) Riser Cable.
Just a Heads up for you PC Builders. If you have Cold Boot Issues and or Freezing and hard Shutdowns,
More than Likely it will be a Bios issue of Voltages, but Mainly Check if you are using a Riser Cable for a Vertical Mount Video Card.
My (Cooler Master) Riser cable was Defective Brand New out of the Retail Box.

    Taking the Riser out of the loop should have been the first step when you started Troubleshooting.

    One would think cooler master would provide a quality cable. Riser cables are notoriously problematic.

    becavnaugh You are exactly very very Correct, Very Dumb of me not to think first.
    I learned something very important about this whole situation.
    Check the Dumb Stuff First. My Bad!
    I just sat back and thought about the whole Trouble Shooting thing, and finally my brain kicked in and said to Test my New Card in another PC.
    That is when I got my answers to the issues.
    At least I did not do something Stupid and send in my new Card to loose it forever.

    Glad you got it figured out 
     
    Not sure if your replacing the riser cable or not.
     
    fyi: Riser cables - make sure you use a tool to make turns with a radius (sharpie works very well for this) - avoid sharp bends in riser cables
     
    I just made a build with one of the Cooler Master risers, lucky for me it worked well for the EVGA 1070 Ti FTW2 & it OC very well
