There are a number of questions that need to be answered before a solid declaration can be made, but there is some interest in Folding M@dness making a comeback this year.
 
First off, we need to know that there's interest, because none of our contests are successful without people willing to take part.
 
Second, we're going to need assistance as this particular contest is MUCH more time consuming on the back end for Troy and I'm unable to provide the full amount of time needed to back fill for him.
 
Also, given the nature of this contest, we need to know how many people are willing to captain a team? The contest has previously been run to reflect the March Madness sportsball thing starting with a number of teams competing in a bracketed tournament to determine final placement, and without enough teams, the brackets won't really work for the intended format.
 
I'll let Troy fill in what he thinks he needs for direct running assistance, and any other details I may have missed.
 
Either way, I'm looking forward to providing my stats once again, and if the interest is there, I won't mind dusting off the Pimp Hat once again and captain/co-captain the F@Holding Pimps once again! (Dutch, any chance I can scare you out of retirement for another run as my co-captain?)

I'm not sensing a lot of interest in reviving this contest and given that planning would need to be underway for the contest to start in March, it may be best to leave this contest on the shelf at this time.

I think people will join in once things start taking shape.
Not too bad a turn out for the TZC

It's just been a WHILE since we've done Folding M@Dness, so I'm not surprised it's not as memorable as the TZC. It's not one we have to have ONLY in March, it just came about as a result of the excitement of March Madness, what with the sportsball enthusiasm and all.
 
The format, as I'm remembering, was that we had 6-8 teams, number of people on each of course depending on participation and trying to properly balance output to keep a tight-ish contest.
 
Points weren't only the point values but the total WUs as well, meaning that some folders who were still working on CPU were getting a potentially similar value and weight in the team as a heavy GPU folder. 
 
The format was one week for 'qualifying' rounds to get the initial seeds for the tourney brackets set up. Then we did the eliminations, head to head folding challenges based on the brackets, but it wasn't as if your team was eliminated. Troy figured out how to keep every team involved until the end so we all kept folding, winning tiers instead of simply one team being the winners.
 
I'm likely missing several details as I'm filling this in just before heading to work, but if you search for 'Folding Madness' or 'Folding M@Dness' on the forums, I'm sure you'll find our varied contest threads, including trash talking and all that fun stuff.

I remember those contests being great fun and bringing some hilarious conversations out.

Not against it but I would like to see it finished by March 10th or so. That's just before the Formula sprints start up for the season. I believe that puts way to much pressure on the organizers. And if anyone thrives on competition, please please please come over and check out the races. We are going up against the best teams in the world this year since we moved up to to League 1.
