Hi, Not sure where else to ask this... Sent a message to the service center already but haven't heard back from anyone yet. Is there anywhere I can get a replacement heat sink "FAN" for this motherboard? It has recently gotten damaged and makes a lot of noise when it spins. I would like to get/buy a replacement for it but i can find out where to get one anywhere online, please help and respond asap. Thanks!

It will be after the weekend before you may hear back from service. I'm doubtful you will find a direct replacement. You will probably have to end up doing what many of us 780/790 MB users did, order a similar size fan, and zip tie or similar the fan on the heat sink. Some used double sided tape to secure it. I don't recall what size fan I went with. [40mm??] May be close to time to consider retiring and oldie but good MB. Good Luck!

Edit: looking way back to 3/2009, it was a 60mm fan I ordered from Newegg.

It's harder to find a decent fan the smaller you go db, and CFM.

Is this what you are looking for ccasimir ?  It's from a 780i but that should not matter.  Happy to send it to you if it's what you need.

hey, back in the day, I just bought a fan that was comparable to the size of the current fan and used mini zip ties and tied it to the heat-sink.  you can slip those little zip ties between the blades of the heat-sink.  You will have better airflow than a factory fan.   Control fan speed in the bios.   Can't remember the size of it.  something like 40 or 60 mm but don't quote me (measure the heat-sink).  lots of people yanked the factory fan and did this.

the way that you do it is take a zip tip, run it through the heat-sink and then through screw hole on the fan (repeat for the three other corners).  Use another zip-tie and use the square end on the second tie to anchor the the other zip tie.  So it will look like the square on one zip tie is on the 4 corners of the heat-sink and the other square of the second zip tie is anchoring the fan at the screw holes.  make sense?   you cut off the rest of the zip-tie on the fan side leaving the square end in place.  that way you don't have to make a circle with one zip tie.  It's harder that way. it also looks better this way.

BTW. I am typing this on a 790i I use as a work pc and I have another 790i setup as an archive server at home.  both still going strong.
