Up until this week i've been using my 14 year old LCD 1080p TV i bought in High school....

I am due for an upgrade

The start of my new 4K Home Theater setup

Sony 55" - LED - X900F 4K TV
Sony UBP-X700
DENON AVR-X4500H

Klipsch Speakers
4x R-620F 100w Front & Rear L/R
1x R-34C 100w Center Channel
2x RB-10 50w Front Height L/R
2x RS-10 50w Surround L/R
2x R100-SW 150w Sub's L/R

Eventually i will be adding 4 ATMOS speakers as well for a 7.2.4 setup

I will be adding sound dampening material as money allows since this is my man cave in my Basement.

Nice! I paused on mine, After spending $1,700 getting the initial set up LOL.

Any pics of the installed set up?

Here's what I have so far, I'm going to build a custom computer desk so I can fit my speakers more neatly, As I didn't have much space (This is in my bedroom LOL)

Edit: How are the RB-10's? I'd like to buy some rear speakers, But didn't really know which ones to go with.

My A/V Receiver wont be here till Friday, so im not quite there yet. and i know the feeling, the TV was a christmas gift from my dad. Then i dropped about $2600-- on the speakers, receiver, player, stand ect... and thats right after i rebuilt my PC only a month ago i just paid off lol

the RB and RS 10's are an old original pair of speakers i bought a decade ago, they have been great and i have no complaints other than they are only rated at 50w RMS, which is half of my new speakers. I need to find out what type of load they will receive compared to the front channels and see if i need to just sell them and get higher wattage rated ones.

What a sweet looking setup. Also you can't go wrong with a Sony bluray player. I'm still rocking a 5 year old Sony S3100. Although it's disheartening seeing so many people give bad reviews\ratings on Amazon when it comes to Sony players.

I have the Sony UBP-X800. Fantastic picture and sound quality, but a couple really annoying quirks. Sometimes the image will blink out for a couple seconds multiple times through a movie. Other times it’s fine. Stilll other times, the player will stop responding to all commands requiring me to power cycle it.

I went with the 800 originally, but ended up taking it back to go with the 700 version for the Dolby Direct HDR Feature.

Have you tried a new HDMI 2.0 cable yet? sounds like your cable is letting you down

Yeah, tried multiple cables. It’s a known issue on forums.

Nice!! Looks clean! Makes me want to add a 2nd Subwoofer to my set up!

How did you connect your subwoofers?  I googled it when I 1st purchased the speakers and they said to connect a single RCA from the device to any 1 of the ports in the back of the subwoofer.... I just found out that it's a better response if you use a Y-Adapter.

So you have 4 total subwoofer outs? or just 2? I'm talking about connecting 1 out to 2 inputs (Left and right) the back of that subwoofer is LFE or right. The subwoofer works by connecting it to just 1 of them, but supposedly the response is better when you plug it into both of the subwoofer connections (From the actual subwoofer, not the receiver) if you understand what im trying to say lol

Edit: just looked up your receiver, you only have 2 subwoofer outs, so that's what my question was, did you use a Y-connector to connect it to the back of the subwoofer, or did you just connect it with 1 of the RCA cables?

You are suppose to use LFE as the only input on the subs (Not both) But this depends alot on your receiver itself

Zach,

If you have the floor space, I highly recommend you pull the towers out away from the wall and give them some room to breath. I give mine about a 12 inches from the back of the cabinet to the wall, and then I toe them in toward my listening position about an inch or two. YMMV, but it's worth a try. I bet it'll make a huge difference in bass response, and in imaging in your room. Additionally, you'll want to add some acoustic treatments to your walls to eliminate reflections. That back wall being concrete blocks and solid side walls with no soft materials makes that room really echoey.

Dope, now put them speaker covers back on.

Did you run the auto tuning and spacing on the denon using the external Mic?

Nice setup!  I just upgraded my 17 year old speakers/sub last summer finally and upgraded a 3 year old Marantz "slimline" receiver to the same Denon as you a month ago.  My system is basically waiting for me to drop a 4K TV into it at this point after all the stuff I upgraded last year.  Just a pic of my setup in the front.  Rears are a tweeter/mid version of the MTM's up front in the L/C/R positions and pic shows the old receiver still.  What speakers did you end up going with?  You said you returned the original ones?

Lets see some updated pictures of the replacement speakers you got. Here's my setup, I have a 65 Samsung MU8000, Marantz SR-7008, JBL Studio 590 for L/R, and JBL Studio 580 for Center, JBL Studio 230 for surround L/R, Simply Sound Audio Rumba 12 and Boston Acoustics BT 1100. This is an old picture. I have since run all the wires in the wall, moved the subs to a different location for better in room response, and no longer use the MTX subwoofer.

The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. Very nice i bet it pounds with two subs!!!

Depends on how it's tuned.  Multiple subs isn't really intended for more bass.  Yes it can do that if you turn them up.  It's more for evening out the bass response and providing a more consistent sound throughout the room.  With one sub maybe you get really good response just in one area, but with multiple you could get a better response in more seating areas in the room.

I love a good sound setup!

I'm running Emotiva T2/C2 for front, in a 7.1.4 setup, the sub is an 18" that I built and tuned for 16hz
