Someone with that CPU and board is going to have to help you with correct voltages for it. To me it does look low. I only have an X299 with an 7940x, I do not have hands on experience with your particular board and CPU. What may work on mine may be too much for yours.

Mine is set in auto. As long as you don't go above that it should be fine.

Re: EVGA Z370 Classified K weird issue ... HELP 2019/01/02 03:22:18 (permalink)
thejedi I just did some google checking for voltage on your CPU - but first what are you using for an CPU cooler?

With good cooling I think for every day you would be safe with up to 1.35 - 1.4

With your voltage being listed under 1 on the bios resets I would bump it to at least 1.3-1.325 - save and exit - reboot
Once the system has rebooted and held the voltage then try the XMP setting

If none of the bios settings are saving from one reboot to the next or resets after having the PSU power turned off / power cable removed check the cmos battery

Here is an example of what the bios would look like when you make the changes - THIS IS FOR THE X299 Dark so it will not look 100% like yours but method you use to set the voltages are the same, don't try to use these voltages as again they are for my cpu

I did not see an vmesh option in your pictures so no on that

Actually, try Mopardart's 1.224v on the vcore, if that doesn't get you 100% stable then try 1.3v
Also Sajin's "you'll most likely need to tweak your vsa & vccio voltages to 1.25v - 1.35v."

The 4C code (although I cannot be specific) directly relates back to your memory. I find when all else fails, try loading "optimised defaults" (had some bizarre memory problems solved by doing this over the years).
  • Load Optimised Defaults, save and reboot.
  • Next, try the XMP profile, save and reboot into Windows.
  • If all goes well, customise your remaining UEFI/BIOS settings.
Hope this helps.

Re: EVGA Z370 Classified K weird issue ... HELP 2019/02/03 16:16:01 (permalink)
This is my exp about ram on Z370 Classified K:

My first set of ram was Corsair (4*8) 3200Mhz cl16 red led v1.35 (CMU32GX4M4C3200C16R) and they resulted not compatible because only 2x banks worked, also if on my previous Z370 FTW mb, they were fully operative.

My second set of ram was G.Skill (4*8) 3200Mhz cl16 rgb v1.35 (F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR) and they fully worked (thru XMP1 at 16-18-18-38).
I was able to oc them up to 3600Mhz at 18-22-22-42 v1.35 (but tested only with 2*8, because I sold the other two banks).

My actual set of ram is G.Skill (4*8) 4266Mhz cl17 rgb v1.45 (F4-4266C17Q-32GTZR), so samsung b-die with XMP1 at 17-18-18-38.
I'm using only 2*8 because the other 2 banks are on another pc.
XMP1 profile doesn't work but it is normal about me... Classified K supports up to 4133mhz according the ref. manual.
So I set up the ram on manual... all timings are on auto. The only values I change are on speed, cas, trp/trcd and voltage.
So these are the results:
3600 15-15-15 v1.35
4000 16-16-16 v1.4
My computer is stable and fast. Vccio and Vsa are on auto.
I was not able to gain a speed over 4000, but since this set of ram is certified for 4266mhz, I think 4000mhz is a limit of this mb.

I'm using DIMM slots 2 and 4 as per the manual.
My cpu 8700k is set on 4800mhz daily use 48*100 v1.225 override, cpu state-c disable.
On mb is loaded the latest bios 1.09.
That's it.

PS: if someone needs screenshots of timings or other, can ask me without problems.

So it seems that you have to sell your classified to purchase the z390 ftw, i think you pb is due to the z370 chipset which can't handle so high memory frequencies whereas the z390 handles with no problems !

Evga motherboards don't have the "maturity" of other brands. If you are lucky and get the compatible hardware, you win... But if you are unlucky, there's only so much discomfort... without excluding the vdrop problems!
After 2 weeks I bought my Classified Z, the release of the z390 motherboards was announced on the market. I found new z390 cards of competitors on market after 2-3 weeks since the announcement, but not from evga.
I hoped to do it in time to upgrade my card with a z390 FTW or Dark, through the step-up program (I had 90 days), but in early January, it expired.
I live in europe and evga was late to release new cards. Now I cannot do much else.
Frankly I don't know if I would buy a motherboard again from them.

You've got a 8700k so no problem, i think Z390 series can better handle both 8th gen and 9th gen, yeah that's sad only for 2 weeks and you would have been able to purchase the same board as me... you've got the classified k with more options that's clear but despites options i do prefer more recent chipset... You could eventually sell your classified and purchase the z390 ftw why not ? In any case i'm totally satisfied with mine and i think for the new 7nm Intel cpus i will again purchase an EVGA motherboard !

I don't want to go off topic, but I was compelled to change my Z370 FTW for Classified K (for some limitations and a wrong advice from the sales department) and first set of Corsair, before finding "peace".
No bios update for vdrop issue and on this forum all people talk about it...
About you, after buying the Classified K, could I buy the Z390 FTW?
Z390 FTW is also limited to 4133mhz ram speed, according its manual, and I bought a ram set of 4266mhz c17 for a value of 900€.
I wanted to buy the Dark (announced for 3 months), using the step-up procedure, but it's not yet available for the European market and my step-up chance is expired.
In my country is difficult to sell an EVGA motherboard, because particular hardware is not appreciated by the multitude and I cannot sell it on the market of this forum, because I have not the requirements to access it.
This is the reality... everything else is just an opinion.
Enjoy your motherboard!

Oh i've just seen you are like me an european guy, i'm french ! In France EVGA is a well known brand and selling used parts is very easy because many people know here that's a very good brand but just not enough available... I've read your issue with you ram that's sad, i, i'm satisfied with my ram as i'm only a gentle overclocker  So as the Dark is unvailable for 2 months the best way is to wait for its availability, then buy it and sell through Ebay international your classified and you will see that it will be sold

I think it's not exactly what you say. I can feel the difference from 3200 to 4000... the difference is almost 1000 mhz and it's not little.
Windows and applications are more responsive, some extra FPS in games and zip/unzip operations are faster.
I was tired to wait the Z390 Dark, so I purchased an ASUS Maximus Apex XI some days ago... now my g.skill set of 4266 is going to 4500 mhz 17-17-17 v1.45 (XMP default voltage).

i know fast ram brings faster performances that's not what i said in french i said that the Intel imc from 8th gen and 9th gen cpus is meant to support 2666mhz ram by default and that i've heard everywhere that very high frequency modules are difficult to handle for those cpus and i also told that on my EVGA's bios it is written that above 3600mhz despites xmp profiles the user has to set manually the memory options...
