Anyone know how to stop the memory clock speed and so fourth from down clocking while at desktop? On precision you could now with the new cards i can't see how to do that?

    Set your power management mode inside the nvidia control panel to prefer maximum performance, and reboot the pc.

    If you want the card to run at full boost at idle you can do the following...
     
    Try locking your voltage/frequency to the 1.2mv range inside msi afterburners voltage/frequency curve editor. Locking your voltage/frequency to the 1.2mv range will force the card to run at a constant voltage/frequency just like kboost. You can access msi afterburners voltage/frequency curve editor by press ctrl+f after opening afterburner. Press ctrl+l after selecting the last point on the graph to lock the range.
     
    Hit the check mark button on the main screen to apply the lock. Your card should boost up to the frequency show inside the voltage/frequency curve editor. 
     
    Should look like this if you've done it correctly...
     

     
    Note: Your cards voltage won't actually run at 1.2mv. The voltage will actually run at default voltage.

    Just wanted to come say thanks for the pointer to using MSI Afterburner to tweak the boost clock settings and lock them. 
     
    But also wanted to point out that the "boost lock" button in Precision X1 accomplishes the same goal of locking the card into it's max boost. 
     
    I needed this for playing older games on a RTX3090 as it refuses to engage boost clocks at ~30% utilization which older games fail to go above on this card. Without the boost lock a 3060ti outperforms a 3090. Hopes this helps someone else in the same boat as me!
